yeah i wouldn't mind a PM of who it was as well cos i've had some dodgy work done on my car in the last 3 months. I've had an engine being built for the last 12 months. Things pop up that take time to sort out. Being a race engine builder means they probably race cars so that takes up a bit of time too... I just hope they don't forget who the engine belongs to and i end up getting it!!! lol

Sorry. Didn't mean to intrude in that way, I was just commenting generally on the paranoia associated with this subject.

Also, I come from Melbourne, still spend time there and would like to move back if I can secure a well paid enough job.

Also, I am a Barrister's Clerk so I am not speaking completely out of my arse.

Also, I stand by what I said.

Shinsei, PM me with the details also please.

Since this was supplied with all the bits, there is no reason 3 weeks wasn't achievable, the machining taking the most time of a week. Workshops are just being stupid or greedy if they take work they can't complete, but just send the name of the place to those interested as some of these tuning shops have plenty of groupies, regardless of the fact they are often allowing themselves to be yanked about and paying for the privelege. I may be a bit tough, but I learnt it managing multi mill contracts, and there are nio friends in business, so I establish a reasonable time frame with the supplier and apply penalty rates if the work is not completed on time (unless an agreed extension has been awarded due to circumstance). Penalty rates (loss of final payable bill amount) buys some pretty good communication, believe me, or the slack places see the writing on the wall and won't take the work. Either way they are exposed and the customer is protected.

I've done a lot of engine rebuilds, usually in larger well managed factory workshops (Toyota), and they lose customers if they take too long so I can see the farce when a place offers to do it in the reasonable time frame and then takes 4 times longer to complete.

I'm siding with Bob on the legality issues, but there is no reason to plaster the name everywhere. The interested people will ask.

has anyone actually found out or is this guy just posting shit to cause trouble? if so close this thread.

His not posting shit , i can vouch for that , the really screwed up his car.

I guess he just dosent want to cause anything political , just need advice.

Are u trying to cause any by posting this???

Nothing political is going to arise from a post like this unless its posted in the thread who it was... PMing people isnt going to cause an issue.

Its called an obvious observation and being around this club and many other forums these types of threads generally are raised to cause shit which is why the obvious question was raised.

Asking for a name of a place and not receiving an answer also makes it a little more suspicious... so no i am not.

Have u tried sending him a pm and asking him personally?? It might just help by doing that.

well u know too? why cant u? thats not the point... im not here to argue but if u do like that i can recommend a couple of forums where the whole idea is to waste time and show how every post is a waste of time...

I pm'd him but I didn't get a clear answer, this is the reply I got from him. When I asked which workshop it was.

Uhmm who did you send your car to? Was it *BLANK*?

if u want to know the place he mentioned pm me...

pm sent

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
