dont be fooled. Think about the crappy handling, the cheap interiors, the constant petrol guzzling, driving in the wet sucks too with that much low end torque, wet cornering, modifying them is boring. It is an impressive ute though, especially when he drives it - awesome control

We went down the same road Dan, from 8's to jap, and the only way i would ever get another 8 is if its my second car that i would use as a weekender. I still love them though.

Av

yes i went from 8, to turbo 6, to turbo 4.

I am just so confused at the moment - there is only one car that I really want and thats a r34 gtr .. but am having trouble justifing spending the money. A GTt or GTSt is uninspiring - and to do what I want to a rex is just foolish spending....

So im mayby looking into a evo 7 /6.5 import or perhaps a Ducatti .... I dont know - but until im certin I wont buy anything - because if I do i will sell it in one year like i did with all my cars cause im bored of it.....

ahhhhhh decisions decisions....

its hard not to sell after a year, im the same way. And agreed, its hard to get excited over a gts-t

70-80k on a 34GTR is difficult to justify, but if its only for a year you dont lose too much money i guess. Good luck anyway

we caned this thread ..yeaw

finding a good brumby is very hard work .. mate of mine looked and looked and found nothing...

Have you considered a rotor ute....

Ive been looking into this ... a old school datto or maza ute with a turbo rotor .... weight fark all and would kick arse on the street... handle like a go cart with some suspension work and a set of good tyres...

i would consider that, but im after a 90's car. This purchase is not really for performance, its more for just having a fun functional get around car and have always wanted a ute.

not fussed if i do a transplant in the brumby or not. Im saving my pennies for a house deposit. The cheapo corolla i bought drives like a dream, but just really sucks ass to be seen in public with. I used to see quite a few brumbys for sale last year when i was looking, but it was slim pickings in the quokka/sundaytimes last week

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
