the cefiro I bought had a speed beeper at over 100kms /hr.

sounds quite ghey.

can anyone tell me how to kill it? I assume I will need to disconnect the speed warning unit from the behind the dash right? Prob is I don't know what to look for.

I bet most of you have done this already so help out a noobi!

cheers cefironites

id say like most of them theyre located behind the dials in the dash... other than, see if you can find the fuse for it... anyone have a wiring diagram of a ceffy?

i had one on my gtr which funnily enough didn't start chiming til 160... go figure lol

hahahahaha "warning! warning! ur already way above the speed limits of any road... slow down before you hit the cars speed limiter!!!"

yeah it cracked me up, a friend was driving and gave it a squirt and just as she was backing off we here this chiming sound lol

"warning warning if caught please bend over"

classic.

so I guess no ones done this themselves then? hmmm. well I would like to hear what your mechanic says pimp, and how mucho deniro it cost you to get it removed!

what were they thinking, a turbo 6 with a beeper at a measly 100kms an hour....

random q, what is the max speed limit on jap freeways? 110??

Talked to some car stereo guys and they reckon it's on the left hand side of the steering column (lhs from the drivers seat perspective) and its a plastic bit with a little circle and exclaimation mark (or similar) in it.

*shrugs*

I'll look this weekend and post if I have any luck.

omg omg omg!!!!

does it sound like wat the a86 in initial d has if so when u take it off can i have it to put on my r33 :)

your kidding right???

you want the little chime to be going every time your going over 105kmph? i take it you don't do much freeway driving then?

Does the speed beeper is in the same box as the reverse gear beeper?

My car still beeps when reversing, but when i go over 105 or 110 there was no ding dong sound so i guess the prev owner must have disabled it? or was it a part of compliance to remove it as it's not ADR?

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah, there are like 3 little boxes down under the kick pannel thing near your left knee, from memory its the 3rd one, across, the one most of the left. The one most on the right was the door open, and lights on beep, and we never worked out what the middle one was... but it wasnt it

I found a nice way to get revenge on this item is throw it out the window at about 110kmh, and yell at it DING NOW!!!

Prob is now the diff annoys me more...

LOL this is so funny.... hahaha

in my case if i ever find that beeper thing i'd put it under my rear tyres, put my car into reverse and run over it.

    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
    • Hi all,   long time listener, first time caller   i was wondering if anyone can help me identify a transistor on the climate control unit board that decided to fry itself   I've circled it in the attached photo   any help would be appreciated
    • I mean, I got two VASS engineers to refuse to cert my own coilovers stating those very laws. Appendix B makes it pretty clear what it considers 'Variable Suspension' to be. In my lived experience they can't certify something that isn't actually in the list as something that requires certification. In the VASS engineering checklist they have to complete (LS3/NCOP11) and sign on there is nothing there. All the references inside NCOP11 state that if it's variable by the driver that height needs to maintain 100mm while the car is in motion. It states the car is lowered lowering blocks and other types of things are acceptable. Dialling out a shock is about as 'user adjustable' as changing any other suspension component lol. I wanted to have it signed off to dissuade HWP and RWC testers to state the suspension is legal to avoid having this discussion with them. The real problem is that Police and RWC/Pink/Blue slip people will say it needs engineering, and the engineers will state it doesn't need engineering. It is hugely irritating when aforementioned people get all "i know the rules mate feck off" when they don't, and the actual engineers are pleasant as all hell and do know the rules. Cars failing RWC for things that aren't listed in the RWC requirements is another thing here entirely!
    • I don't. I mean, mine's not a GTR, but it is a 32 with a lot of GTR stuff on it. But regardless, I typically buy from local suppliers. Getting stuff from Japan is seldom worth the pain. Buying from RHDJapan usually ends up in the final total of your basket being about double what you thought it would be, after all the bullshit fees and such are added on.
