Since I can't find one (they sell out in about 5 minutes), I thought I'd see if there was any interest in a group buy.

After doing some reading, the HKS Oil Coolers appear to cool better than the Trust ones, and the HKS oil coolers can have a remote kit fitted independently. Heard some bad stories about the quality of the lines and fittings they use in those chinese ones - not worth risking $10k of engine on a budget braided line that will shred rubber into your oil supply.

Have approached a couple of suppliers - awaiting on pricing and volume discount

Please post interest here, and if you have any mates that can source stuff cheaply please speak up. Happy to arrange everything.

:P John

Definitely interested in a 16-row Trust/GREX or HKS oil cooler kit... including thermostat + relocated oil filter setup.

Let us know the prices when you get them

To answer the pm u sent me.

where

I said that i dont know i think ive seen them somewhere though.

But if you shopped arround and tryd to get a better price for a group buy in aus im sure youl be able to get a better discount than what they state as the rrp.

ill look for some in the days to come.

cheers.

Guys UAS has a GTS-T kit developed and ready to go, with a GTR kit on the way.

The kits include thermostats and oil filter relocation.

Details will be posted soon, in the interim however call John on (02) 9634 8000 and he will give you the run down

rocket do a complete kit

relocator, lines , 450hp cooler for like 380 everything included

ready to screw on

and that isnt the group buy price (would be the same anyway)

the oil cooler doesnt look as cool as the hks one but for the price it will do 90% of the hks ones job at 2/5th the price

makes sense to me

just read it straight out of the rocket catalong

that price is the trade price plus 50 bux for the shop that buys it and its a universal kit that fits 95% of cars they say.... can confime it... can also get the part number if need be

raceworx has trade account so we might even be able to get it cheaper that that

im getting one for my sr20det cause i alreeady have a grex kit on the gtr motor

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
