I have bought a complete Nismo R33 GTR Suspension!

The Damper Nr : 56110 RS 598

The Spring Nr : 55020 RS 598

I´m searching some information about this!

The Seller said it is really hard, Track use only

Has anyone driven this Suspension ??

If searched the old Nismo Catalouge online but haven`t found it yet.

Any Information is welcome.

Thanks in Advance!

Kai

I had a set of Nismo labelled Bilsteins in my Stagea. Pretty sure they are just stock Bilsteins with the Nismo name added. You should have two sets of part numbers...front and rear will be different. When I get home I will have a look at the part numbers which I have recorded. You may be able to get some information from Bilstein (particularly as you are in Germany)...

Thanks !

The Numbers of the shocks are diffrent thats true.

Bilstein

front 56110 RS 598

rear 56210 RS 598

The Numbers of the Springs are the same

55020 RS 598

at the moment im waiting for a recall from Bilstein

they have their Headquarter 29km away and they can rebuild the shocks for a reasonable price.

The simple answer is that they are nothing "special". They are Bilstein dampers, which makes them very nice, capable dampers that last a long time, can work across a fairly wide range of spring rates and soak up a lot of bumpiness with good comfort levels. They're basically a B8 equivalent, I think.

For sure there is nothing " special"

This Shocks are similar to the old Bilstein B16 Model.

I only want to know for what purpose they are!

They are not listed in any Nismo Catalogue  i found, but why ?

they were not sold to end customers?

I will testdrive them and if needed i will let them overhaul by Bilstein

  • 1 year later...

So a little update :

I brought the Shocks to Bilstein for an overhaule.

For 480€ the came with new Rods an new front rubber bushings.

They Changed the complet setting to Road use, cause i mostly drive on Country Roads.

Now it is more comfortabel, like the stock shocks.

Bilstein says the original setting was for Track use only, rock hard.

Then I gave them a new paint and polished the springplate.

For the Boots i used VW ones , cause originals are not available. FebiPart No.08071

The Top Bushings are KYB SM 5123 i had to shorten them for 1cm .

on the left hand the orginal Shocks , on the right the Bilstein shocks

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
