Trust33 -The GTR, GTT and GTS-t kit's are all counted as the same group buy. A GTT kit is no different to a GTS-t.

Al - We are checking interest at the moment so I'd say in the next couple of weeks unless Scotsman has any other plans?

Ok seems like we have plenty on interest on this one to go ahead with the first 5. The group buy will not close ever. Just wait till 5 people are confirmed then buy will occur.

I want to get the first round going before PIRAC club day. Will post up my account details for people to deposit into then buy will go ahead. PM me if you have other ideas about payment methods. Otherwise I will handle the transactions.

Got a bit more info for those interested in a remote filter setup without cooler.

Awaiting on prices using blue tube and the 5+ buy price.

UAS have a braided filter kit for a GTR for $380, and a Greddy unit for $280. Not sure 1m of hose is sufficient but would be close (Anyone got a GTR setup already and a tape measure??)

Attached are better pics of the plates, Single O ring but it's bloody thick.

Note no mounting bracket.

John,

Ok the remote filter kit only in braded line would be approximately $463 retail

(allowing total of 1m hose - depends on where you mount your filter!) SAU discount to $405 per kit.

See pics of the blocks - line would go from the adaptor block on the engine to the

remote filter mount & back to the engine.

You don't need a thermostat on one of these setups unless when you wake up there is snow everywhere! Australia is not cold enough (perhaps a snow resort?!) to require a thermostat setup. The remote thermostat setups are $132 each - but be aware there are quite a few extra fittings required to plum them up (ie expensive! - min 4 more adaptor & 4 more braded hose fittings & a one way valve)

Adaptor to block has a large thick o-ring - see pic

The remote filter block has provision for 3 6mm bolts to mount it to your firewall.

Ok. I'd like to start collections.

Bank details as follows, use SAU nick as description.

Check the first post for the edit. I will keep this up to date. Once five people are paid coolers will be avaliable. Meridian has stock. I will take full responsibility for any money transfered and will keep corespondance with people throughout the transaction. If people change their mind I will refund all monies deposited, unless Meridian have been handed the money. I am making no profit from this group buy and have no affliation with Meridian other than being a good customer. If you feel uncomfortable with any of this PM me and we can set something up. I am more than happy to meet people in person.

Edited to try and make it clearer

These oil cooler options will allways be avaliable to all SAU members/forum go-ers. We will wait until 5ppl are confirmed and then order to make the group discount applicable. However you can get just one at any time directly from Meridian. I am happy to handle this for as long as people require the coolers.

I've included an add a Meridian thermostat option to the cost matrix (couple of posts down):

Ok just done all the checking up on the oil thermostats & one way valves etc -

please note I've accidentally quoted you an ex-tax price on that thermostat housing

- retail is $143, not $130! (forgot his price list showed all retail prices ex

tax!!)

Anyway - here we go....

Braded installation type oil thermostat assembly:

Retail $533, SAU1 $469, SAU5+ $438

Pushlock installation type oil thermostat assembly:

Retail $508, SAU1 $440, SAU5+ $415

This unit will fit in between the oil filter & the oilcooler - the assembly includes

all required fittings - it can be retrofitted just by cutting the oil lines &

mounting it up.

Also note that the supplier has limited supplies of the one way valve that is fitted

with this installation, so kits may not be available "immediately" may take a day or

2 to find more valves.

Regards,

T

OK, my supplier is more expensive so i will be in this group buy :).

xfixiate: You have completely confused me

Are you saying that UAS prices are cheaper. i.e: $320 for the complete kit without remote filter option. Is the kit as good as this one.

SAU NICK...NAME............CAR..........COOLER REQUIRED...........PRICE...PAID

....Al...........Alan C.........R33 Gtst...No Remote Filter, Pushlock...$440......No (Waiting on xfixiate response)

xfixiate: Are you saying that UAS prices are cheaper. i.e: $320 for the complete kit without remote filter option.  Is the kit as good as this one.

UAS sell an oil cooler with braided lines but WITHOUT the adapter to connect it (ie you get two braided lines and the cooler only) for $320. If you alreayd have a remote filter you could probably connect this up (assuming hoses were long enough) in place of one of the short hoses. Or buy a filter block adapter.

If you kitted up the Meridian option to the same spec as UAS (ie include the thermostat), you'd probably find UAS was cheaper:

UAS = $1150 Retail

Meridian = $438+825 = $1263 (at group buy price), $533+$1025=$1558 (retail).

If you were after a complete GTR cooler kit in braid including thermostat and remote filter, then UAS retail would be cheaper than the Meridian Group buy price by about $100.

If you just want a remote filter arrangement (no cooler) UAS are cheaper retail if (Greddy at $280 or custom at $320/$380/$395 - depending on when you asked and GTR or GTST.

If you're after a three hose remote filter and cooler setup with NO thermostat, Meridian seems to be the go (no such kit from UAS).

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
