Pentae, quoting numbers from release dates is all good and dandy, but fast forward to 2004 and factory claims re - performance means little

As for ugly...again it all comes back to ride height and wheels to make any Nissan look great....two of the nicest GTRs ive seen happen to be R33s so i dont think you can say they are ugly

pentae...hahaha, you say the r33 and s14 look ugly...um...a silvia? now that is ugly. That's a bloody square box. I have no idea where you get your figues from, but i'll quote you my figures, very little difference:

r32 gtst

1290kg 160kW 263Nm 15.0

r32 gtr

1480kg, 353Nm, 13.0

r33 gtst

1370kg 184Kw 294NM 14.4

r33gtr

1530kg 206Kw 368NM 13.2

r34 gtt

1410kg 206Kw 343NM 15.0

r34 gtr

1540kg 206Kw 393NM 13.1

Before you go criticising, considering the gts25, the r33 is the best one. the extra weight is due to larger motor, brakes, etc, wider wheel base, better gbox. All in all, better and faster. The r34 gtt has more power and torque, but is once again faster, and is slower than the r33. All in all, the r33 gts-t is the best.

In terms of gtr, have you noticed that the difference in weight comes with an increase in power and torque? The difference in speed that we are talking is minimal. Just .1 or .2 on the 1/4. how consistent are you anyway? less than .1 difference every time? you'd hardly notice it. The r32 is a POS with that gay slow attessa, unless you get the v spec. I had one and i don't like it. I much rather the r33 gtr. much better driving as well as looks

The last point of Pentae's that I would like to address is his comment about the 33 gtr "driving like a boat". Is this the same r33 gtr that was the first standard production car to break the 8 minute lap record at the Nurburgring? The 32 gtr didn't do it and I'm damn sure no Sylvia ever would or could, so what do they drive like? I'm assuming you've got extensive experience driving gtr's...or am I assuming wrongly?

I agree with most of the things you have said except that a Gtt is slower than an r33 gtst.

I have owned 2 R33 GTst's (now have a 33 GTR) and my brother has a gtt, and stock for stock the gtt is definately quicker than a 33 gtst, as well as providing better traction

Do you guys really want to know what they think about the 32 and 33 here...?

The 33 was not as popular model, go to any Nissan dealer here and they will tell you. Well if you you know them well enough :D (they may even show you sales figures...R30-popular, 32-popular, 34-popular) they will tell you. When the 34 came out, many 32 owners traded up to the 34...basically 32 owners didn't like the 33 so they held on to their 32 until the next revision. I guess it all depends when you first saw the Skyline, if you were around during the 32 but before the 33 then you will dislike the 33.

Buy a GTR least no one can say oh but what about a GTR instead you'll have the experience and the pleasure of driving one.

I would have got a R32GTR is i had about 6K more, but i didn't it went to insurance, transfer, service and tuning etc so i ended up with R33 GTST 95 series II for 20K.

I've drivin a R32GTR and it is downright aggressive but oh well couldn't afford it.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
