HeyItsFlashx
Hello, today I replaced the spark plugs, coil packs and a fuel filter on my 95 GTST, and now, I’m getting a spin but no fire. The plugs were pregapped out of the box at a 0.835 so I just went with that number, I’m not sure what is actually the right number since my car is 100% stock, and after googling it, I get conflicting gap numbers people recommend. When I replaced the coil packs with brand new ones, the coil pack harness clips were pretty much disintegrating when I trying to plug them back in. (Pain the the ass to get them back in too) So I just ordered a new harness today, assuming that could be somewhere to start. Anyone have an idea on where to start? Is the gap set correctly? Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483837-r33-spin-but-no-fire-issue/ Share on other sites
Ben C34
Gap won't matter so it's not that. Check for spark, check for plugsbring wet with fuel for a start Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483837-r33-spin-but-no-fire-issue/#findComment-7967456 Share on other sites
Duncan
Check the coil pack loom is plugged into the ignitor or car loom correctly, and that there are no earths missing, assuming that is the only electrical thing you touched Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483837-r33-spin-but-no-fire-issue/#findComment-7967458 Share on other sites
HeyItsFlashx
So I just took everything apart and inspected the coil pack harness, everything was plugged in but I didn’t see a ground/earth attached to the harness? Just plugs into the coil pack and a plug to the loom. So I took the plugs out of the packs and #3 plug crumbled into my hand, to the point where it was just 3 prongs haha I ordered another harness lastnight though. So I guess I’m gonna have to wait till the new harness is in. Kinkstaah
Presumably car was running before attempting to do any of this? It's the loom by the sound of things, given new spark plugs, new coilpacks and new loom... that's some decent troubleshooting. Yes there could easily be fuel on them depending how much cranking you attempted to do to get it to start again which can mess things up. That said, by the time the loom arrives probably will have evaporated away 😛 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483837-r33-spin-but-no-fire-issue/#findComment-7967493 Share on other sites
