Hey guys, just wondering how many people here have built s0 rb25s, I’m building a fully forged one atm but am interested to see how much power others are making and what parts they have as I’ve heard the r32 rb25 has different intake manifold and wondering if rb20 would work, also anyone put a r34 big box into a r32 before and how much wiggle room is there? Cheers

22 years of this forum would hope so

use the search function plenty of information.

I have a forged rb25, yes it makes good power, I run the r33 gearbox(in a schassis, its tight), Use stock manifold or a plazmaman plenum.

And because I am in a good mood, read everything.....the reread everything then ask questions. Everything has been answered.

Yes. It's easy. Only with the caveat that you will have to convert to pull clutch (which kinda sucks) and you will have to fabricobble a speedo drive together using one from an early 90s Navara (same big box as R33/4, cable speedo).

Oh, and of course you will need the correct gearbox crossmember (I can't remember if it is A, B or C and it probably depends on whether the car was auto or manual to start with also), and you need to get the front part of an R33 or 4 tailshaft cut and shut onto the R32 tailshaft (the cut and shut happens in front of the centre bearing section - you cannot just use the whol efront section from any other car - nothing is the right length etc).

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
