Just purchased a R32 V Spec from Japan and looking to restore over time.

Hi Duncan,

I picked up the car in August last year.

Just swapped out the old suspension for some basic BC's and started driving it.

On investigation this is another scammer. They have sent 2 PMs to people as follows:

To Marzoum - Hi Mate, a member of the forum have some BNR32 Front driver side (right) abs sensor for sale. He goes by "oktaytrz" here, you can reach him at [email protected]

To cabramatta - Hi Mate, a member of the forum have some R34 GTT Manual Gearbox for sale. He goes by "oktaytrz" here, you can reach him at [email protected] 

Well constructed really, because oktaytrz is a long term, previously active but now inactive member, and by redirecting them to the scammer's email instead of the real members email it may well be effective phishing.

Please be cautious of any PM directing you to an off forum email, of course we have no visibility of what happens outside the forums.

Seems to be not the first time for that guy @Duncan. Was successful before as well. See the below post where he was redirecting to the same email. I like to believe there is a special place in hell for people like that.

@PranK put in a post limit before messaging but looks like that doesn't really help. Just invites cheap posts on welcome topics. Not sure what can help here. Maybe a warning when opening private messages?

Yeah I had mentioned to Duncan that limiting messages is a little tricky but that this has happened again I'll get this done in the next few days.

And yes @soviet_merlin I'll put a warning banner on the top of the messages screen, nice idea!

I have added a warning to the messages page. Have a look and see if you think we should add anything else.

Perhaps a specific line saying to be very wary of communications with e-mail addresses proffered as "being how you contact this user". Part of the "make sure you know who you're talking to" that you already have, but a bit more specific.
