Long shot since they're long discontinued but before I remove the bushings from my JIC arms and replace them with whiteline adjustables...

If you upgraded to gktech fucas sell me your noltecs before you bin them 🙈

well, just be aware on of the reasons they are not available (apart from noltec going broke...) is that they weren't that great. Very hard to adjust on the car and the locking bolts were known to slip at times

Yeah but there aren't that many short or adjustable arms that aren't using bearings (which I explicitly don't want)

 

Also I have nismo brackets so the bushings last longer.

I don't want to get your WTB off track, but the other option to keep bushes is to shorten the upper arms, Just Jap used to have a jig for that

I did, I have the jic -10mm arms which are 170mm fixed (no adjustment)

I might shove whiteline bushings in them to get the adjustment if I can't find noltecs. Not totally sure they will fit though.

Yeah we run standard arms with superpro adjustable at each in the race car due to rule restrictions. They do flog out due to the geometry issue once you add caster, we just treat them as a regular maintenance item

That's why I have the nismo brackets, and the offset on the jic arms is also different from stock (closer to Cusco version)

But they are fixed length which sucks.

I swear at my GKTech ones every time I have to take them apart and replace a spherical.

But I wouldn't swap them for anything else. They absolutely slay every other option, at least in terms of how they actually work.

You sure you don't want to live with bearings? I mean, they don't have "ball bearings". They are rod ends and sphericals throughout. Tough as nuts, even though I have found more than one way to wear them out.

I have offset Nismo brackets so the fact the gktechs can pivot is less important to me. I have 170mm JIC arms with bushings - but they provide no adjustment and I'm not sure whiteline eccentric bushings will fit them (I don't want to ruin the bushings currently in them to find out). Ideally I want something with bushings + adjustment; hence why I'd like to find a pair of these. Unfortunately they aren't easy to find.

I'm firmly on the "zero compliance is good compliance" for FUCAs. I'd be looking to solid metal joints even if the primary reason for having them is because they facilitate the twist in the arm. I have never been more happy with the way the front suspension behaves than I have since I got rid of the FUCA bushes. Even the thin little (short lived) poly bushes in the Whiteline adjustables have too much compliance for my liking.

It probably won't be long before I have sphericals nearly everywhere, probably including both top and bottom arms in the rear, and I'll start complaining about the increased costs for dental work. But I will be enjoying the driving more, I'm sure.

    • Before I commit to it as I already have the wastegate off the car, would you change it to the 9psi spring instead of the 12, or whack it back on now and try your suggestion?   Edit: Actually I might just swap the spring and see what the logs say after another few pulls, as we know it's still spiking without the Mac valve in the picture so I need more data without the Mac valve trying to combat the issue.
    • Sounds good Hmm suppose the main thing is, how much do you care about this car? The filler doesn't make for a very good water barrier lol. If there was a tiny little bit of rust forming now, that in 3 to 5 years time becomes obvious under the paint (starts to bubble up), would it bother you? 
    • I already have the ability to datalog the voltage... what I can't do is correlate it to what the gauge is showing when I'm looking at the data at a later date. Or something like this. Except getting the oil to 125C+ involves me going 200+kmh at the track so you can imagine this is a little tricky unless I do something like note what the voltage is when I am at the top of 5th gear so I have a point to reference on. Drove car today. O2 still reading richer because hopefully not a leak instead of massive restriction I've introduced. Car really doesn't sound like a LS. It's quite strange. Pulled a bit of fuel out up top. This does potentially explain why my spark plugs looked like the car was running pretty over-rich. If I was tuning it to a ~12.7 which in reality was far richer than that in the past. It will be handy to have the dyno WB to compare my WB to to compare notes that's for sure. At this point I'm happy to just sit in the passenger seat and tune the thing given I've got about 7 million hours on the platform lol.
    • Yeah I understand you have to pay for an updated map or subscription service or something. But I can't even find a current map for Australia. My map is dated 2017, but didn't this car version still sell in Australia until 2021?   Also, just as an aside, the navigation system warns you of traffic incidences ahead.....why would they include that on a map they knew is not receiving live information. I am forever going to be warned of an incident that probably existed for 30 minutes 8 years ago.
