Hi guys,

does anyone know much about these turbos? The only info i have found so far are from the turbo comparison chart located at driftcentral.com, that it rates the turbp at 380hp for a sr20.

Does anyone think thois turbo could make over 260rwks, and how much boost do u think i would need to run to make this.

Thanks guys.

Dean

if i put a thicker headgasket on my 33, which has otherwise standard engine, maybe cams, will my engine survie?

What im gettin at is, say i have chosen 2 turbo setups, 1 makes 270rwkw at 1.1 bar, and the other makes 270rwkw at 1.5bar.

Does this effect the engine? Will a headgasket be enough to sustain a decent life out of my engine?

thanks.

From my readings the AX53B70 P25 Apexi Turbo is basically an IHI equivelant to the HKS 2530/2540, The compressor is a little larger, it is reated at a few more PS, but how much do aerodynamics etc count?!?!?!?!?

Though Apexi offer it with some different sized exhaust housings so it may not be affected by the boost taper at high rpm

From http://www.driftcentral.com/content_turboi...hp?tinfo=ttable ...thanks to Bu5ter :)

Its not to say its a bad turbo, its just that it may not be that well suited to a std engine wanting to run 260rwkws

yeh :), well my td06-25g fell thru :) so im on the lookout for a new turbo. this one came up, and it looked all right, however i assumed to make big power, i would of needed to run high boost, somethin i dont want to do.

I think ill keep on looking for somethin bigger then,

Thanks for help guys, as always ;)

Im keeping mine now so not trying to sell you mine...but if you are after 260rwkws (at around 1.3bar) then id grab a 2nd hand TD06-20G. Will make that power and from what two ppl tell me when on an RB25 they are a nice and punchy street turbo.

But as i said before if you want more power at a later date then id start off with a bigger turbo, or consider scrapping around for a 25G compressor and cover and high flowing your TD06-20G when you are bored of the power.

There are so many ways of getting the power your after...high flow with cams, 2535 with cams, kind dyno operator :) , 2835, 3037, kind dyno operator :) , TD06-25G, T67, RX6 plus so many locally sourced Garret.

If Steve is selling his car then id buy that...quickest / easiest way, and from what i read he modded the car in a nice and balanced manner and it sure makes some numbers :)

    • CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) has existed since the 80's. I'm looking into buying a Hummer H1 and they generally included it.
    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
