Spoke to a KIWICAR agent in Brissy today about my car, as it was originally going to land today. Checked KIWICAR web site this morning and schedule had changed... Car is now landing tomorrow morning 6am. He also advised that I'd be dreaming if I thought I would have my car in Melbourne by 6th - 7th of this month, which would leave maybee just enough time to get it complied and come down to the meet. So, I won't be showing my face at this meet unless I rock up in my brother in-laws REX and I don't want to spoil the day or give the REX a complex:). Fingers crossed I may get some good news for a change and everything will run smooth and I can make it. If not I will join at next months annual meeting or via mail.

Would it be a bad idea to bring a unregoed 34 along, with a UVP?

you think i could convince the men in blue that workshops are open on Sunday's??

OK I will get down and put some names (forum) to faces. That will be good. I also will have a UVP... are the jacks being invited? Is it worth the risk? Whats the worst they could do? It's tempting.

just a thought...

have you notified the local police of this gathering?

i would hate for an officer to roll past then recruit about 5 cars and start defecting people.

if they know about it they might leave it alone...

Warren.

not really. as have been done before. without any problems.

dont hoon around and you wont have a problem.

If there is a problem, as always, ill deal with it on the day.

Now, no more talk or paranoia of police for gods sake

i got a quick question about the CAMS liscence...

If i join the club, and get the CAMS liscence through SAUVIC. Can i only get on the track when the whole club goes, or can i attent other events?? How often will the track days be??

I will quickly answer this.

You can attend other track days which have open invitations (which are most track days)

To give you an idea - your SAUVIC membership plus a L2S CAMS licence will allow you to attened the following track days coming up.

19/9 - Sandown (ARCOC)

19/9 - Calder (FFCC)

19/9 - Phillip Island (HSV)

3/10 - Sandown (ARCOC)

16/10 - Sandown (JAG)

24/10 - Sandown (Maserati)

30/10 - Sandown (HSV)

31/10 - Calder (WRX)

13/11 - Phillip Island (PIARC)

14/11 - Phillip Island (PIARC)

why?

id rather it was done by the president and i see no issue in them knowing where there for a "family event" rather than dealing with them on the day cause they notice a whole bunch of cars there and come to investigate

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
