Hey everyone....

IM looking for a car for my gf.

r32 non turbo. Auto, 92 or up preffered.... neat paint and interior

Stock or with a couple of small mods ok.

Id rather a 2 door over a 4 door.

Price is open within reason.

From reading some posts by Fubkymonkey i think what im looking for is a

GTS25 = late model (think post 1992 or something) car with 2.5L N/A engine and mostly in auto (manual GTS25 is hard to find)

If anyone has one they want to sell or can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Cheers

Hayden

so u want a r32 with a rb25? aint nothing stock boiut it as the R32 came with a RB20 :|

apparently u can get R32 GTS25 from factory (93 onwards?)... but they are uber rare...

Genesis recently had one till he sold it..

ARKAD: You from Brisbane right? would u want to import one yourself or find one that's already here? I recently bought an R33 GTS25 about 3 months ago from SVI up at virginia.

I'm quite happy with it... but ur looking for a R32 with an RB20DE engine (2L) try teh tradingpost, carsales.com, and such... N/A's are kinda getting rare nowadays...

You can get a R32 GTS25, i know this, coz i drive one! They aren't the most common model, mine is Auto, but the gearbox is quite happy to be slapped down to 3rd or 2nd manually, and does it relatively quickly.

Mines a 92model...the engine is different to that in the R33 as it doesnt have the varible valve timing.

They go reasonably quick, mine went to quick for me one night and im now trying to bring it back to life.........painful process, but im getting there. Might even get to drive it next week after being off road for 4months (ooohh the excitement!!!)

  • 1 year later...

'tis a pity you weren't in Sydney about a month ago...

julion off here bought a N/A'ed R32, '92 model I think, for ~$8k...

I took it for a spin (I was going to get it, before I found my R33), was an awesome little machine.

Went like a rocket!

when in doubt, keep quiet. :D

R32 GTS25's do exist and they are a production model. They aren't as rare as people make them out to be. They ARE rare in Australia though, as only a few of them were ever imported under the CPA scheme prior to 2003. They only started production in 92/93 so they weren't imported as 15 year old cars either.

Under the new SEVS laws you can import one as they meet the power to weight requirements. They are lighter than an R33 GTS25 which is also eligible for import. Prior to R32 compliance being available the ones in australia were the only ones you could choose from. However now with R32 compliance being around the $2500 mark, and the R32 GTS25's being relatively cheap to buy in Japan, you should be able to import one for under $10,000 for a nice latemodel R32 that hasn't been thrashed. Only catch is you've gotta find a car with no accident history.

Nice comeback to the 18 month old post Shan

For what it's worth, saw an R32 GTS25 in Hurstville the other day. Pretty neat car..

bloody arsemonkey's digging up 2 year old threads.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
