Hi All,

I'm looking at getting my R34 GTT lowered and don't really know where to take it or which springs to get?

I've had my R34 about 6 weeks and I've just joined SAUWA. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to get it lowered and cleaned up for PAS.

Also, one of my rims is a bit scratched and I was hoping to get em all polished. Anyone know where to go and how much it would cost?

Cheers,

Jarred

Here is the link to the place most SAUWA guys go for rim repair:D

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ight=rims+fixed

Lowering it, I'd just go with King Springs, the stock suspension is good, just a bit high. Can get you a price tommorow if you'd like:D

Cheers

Paul

Hey Erik,

Yeah, though you might have - I've already met you! I came and looked at your black one when it was on carsales.com too!!

I heard you sold it - How's your new ride? I should be on a cruise soon (or might eben make it to dyno comp on weekend) - Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some other awesome rides.

Nice ride dude, Saw that car on sale on carsales.com.au 2 months ago , Hope to see you on the next cruise :)

HI Scags,

Oh really? Hehehe I didn't know that btw how's your ride? :) fast? :D

It's auto right? if I'm not mistaken

Yeah it is hell fast - well compared to my previous ride. It IS auto which is a bit unfortunate. That was one of the things I liked better about yours, also yours was lower - but that will be fixed soon :D It has the sports mode on the steering wheel, so that is some compensation. I may look into changing the transmission eventually, but I don't know if that is an impossible (or too costly) task?

It has some really nice mods though and they are all high quality. The car is in near new condition too.

Where did you get your new yellow R34? What needs to be done to it before you put it in PAS?

Cheers,

Jarred

Hi scags, got msn?

Nah my ride is slow due to tuning and no ebc atm :)

Mine was super super low :D , just get lowered springs or coil over and you will be fine.

Your ride is nice, everything is perfect except the rims :D, I'm getting impul front bar as well :D kekek

Everything is good? icic that's good then

I got my ride from NSW, I just don't have time man kekeke  I just need to repair rims and exterior which is easy but due to money and time I just won't put it in PAS this year

btw my msn is [email protected]

Here are some photos so you can see how bad the height is right now!! It's like a monter truck!

The Rims are 18" (8" wide at front and 9" wide at rear) The tires are 35 profile.

The gap to the guard is thicker than the tires

Cheers,

Scags

Hi there.

Got a question, is that a factory bodykit or....?

Looks great!

Hi Merlin,

Nah - I don't think it's factory - most R34's I've seen don't have that kit. I don't know where it is from, it was on the car when I bought it. I think it is called a Bomex body kit?

P.S. The 34 looks heaps better now that she's lowered

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
