I know this is a bit late, but I have read through this topic and am a little confused. Every bilstein part number that someone puts up differs from another persons. Also I have read people saying that rs260 has different rears, the fork kind? My RS4S has the same (I think) so that throws another spanner in the works. Also reading on the bilstein website about the part numbers and the Stagea part numbers are different all together then any R33 numbers. So confused! Also tried getting the part number on the website in but was told they don’t get sold in Australia.

Any clarification would be awesome. Also if anyone has a pic of the fork style and the other style just so I know that I’m not imagining it would be great.

To the best of my knowledge the bilstein shocks have to be ordered through SK, as it is not a stock part, rather a GTR shock that is re-valved to suit the wagon to SK's secret specs. I've got a set of the rear shocks form him sitting in my garage awaiting fitting (been there for over 4 months now).

Just wondering if your rears have this number on them? These are fitted to my S1 260RS. Have'nt found the number for the fronts yet but in anycase if the custom valving is not recorded by this part number you will still need to contact the guru. (SK)

WARNING - The rear bar does not fit. C34 stagea rear is not same as R33 gtst as explained in this thread. It is 2inches too narrow.

Thanks :thumbsup: Is that to say (forgive me for not re-reading the entire thread) that a R33 GTR rear swaybar will fit C34 stagea? (RS-Four auto if that makes any difference) because the stagea-specific bars have dropped off the whiteline list and the Selby ones are *very* pricey in my area. But R33 GTR would have a few more options.

Does anyone know what airbag suspension is like to drive with? Thinking of turning my Stagea into a cruiser V.I.P style car... Not sure yet, cops are turd around here.. any jap car they see they pull over and rape them.

Not speaking from experience I should think it would be fine if done properly (but probably illegal in your area).

Just after some ideas/thoughts from you guys.

The front lip of my car was sitting at about 9cm on lowered springs when I purchased the car, I've since had these swapped over for some stock V35 springs and its not at about 13cms in the middle of the front lip. I was hoping I'd get a little more out of them than that, as apparently they're the same spring as a stock M35. My car does have a kit, so that coul well be playing a role, but other than that does anyone know how high the middle of the front lip should be on a stock standard M35?

Does anyone have some experience with the BC Coilover kit ( http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...at=0&page=1 ) and know how high I might able to get the front? I dont think I'll be able to get it up my drive way until I hit about 18cm or possibly higher :P I'm going to shoot them an email asking pretty much this anyhow, but thought if I could get some standard numbers of you guys and any learn from your experiences it might make this all happen quicker/smoother :P

Hi Dunc, I have them in my nm35, I'm off to bed now :P but I'll post some detail for you in the morning. My car was totally stock suspension before these so I can give you an idea of std ride height.

Hi guys

I have a 34 stagea RS4.

I've got a really low bar on the front of my car so want to raise the front a bit. I've been given some R34 GT-T standard front and rear shocks. I'm not really worried about the back but want to raise the front. I've gone to put the fronts on but they seem too long to be able to be put on without taking apart the suspension. I've tried using spring compressors but they won't fit on while putting the strut in as its such a tight fit.

Should these shocks fit? It says at the start of the thread the standard ones are the same as the R33 GTR, are they shorter? The ones on there at present have RS+R on the springs are they the standard RS260 struts?

Hi Scott, I see it's your first post - welcome!

I assume you mean C34 stagea as I don't know of a m34 model (C34 or M35). The C34 shocks are covered in detail throughout this thread; but basically in summary I am pretty sure the fronts are R33GTR, rears are R33 GTST (but the valving of the rears is *not* suited to the stagea - they just physically fit). One way I can think of to raise it might be to get hold of some Bilstein shocks as they have a circlip-located spring seat which is height adjustable; you can read all about that here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...lin-t85592.html

EDIT: Ah do you have a 260RS? If so then the rear shocks need forks, not eye bolts... see above-mentioned thread for details and have a read through here re. RS260

PS You might actually have to "lengthen" the bump stops lol. Raising the C34 has been discussed before - have a search through this thread.

I can't find any specific mention of R34GT front shocks being tried (it is mentioned however that R34 rears are forks and thus will only fit a manual stag') though the thread is long and I haven't searched much. However SK does make it clear that the valving is all wrong for a wagon with '33/'34 shocks at the front.

Yeah I was trying to look through it all too and that's the only mention of the R34 I could find as well. Looks like its a no go either way. Guess i'll have to source so R33 GTR shocks. Thanks for your help and interest Dave.

I already have new Bilstien shocks front and rear, so I guess Im lucky in that respect, and fingers crossed if I ever need new ones I cn match the part numbers.

But I'm thinking of new wheels and lowering it a bit. Have people figured out what is needed for the 260RS front and rear spring replacement? Thinking King Springs or Tein.

Ie, body type/part numbers/and spring rates if needed seeing it is a wagon etc.

If you have Bilsteins you don't need to change your springs. You can adjust the height by moving the circlip up or down. If you have run out of grooves (only likely if you want an extremely low setting) you can get more grooves machined quite cheaply.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.

AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree.     • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
