Guys,

A few people have expressed interest in helping with the filming for the track day on the 24th wether it be with donating stuff for us to use on the day to the actual filming.

I need to know a list of what we have available so i can figure out the best way to organise all this.

I will be bringing 2 cameras... one will be perminantly mounted in roys car on the mount he has and the other will be mounted either on the sideline or in someone elses car as someone else said they had a headrest camera mount.

So if you have camera mounts, tripods etc or want to help out with the filming from the sidelines please let me know in this thread as the other is too long now.

Also on one section of the day passengers are allowed so i wouldnt mind (with the permission of the drivers) everyone with cameras to go in the cars and film from the passenger seat.

This will all be going towards an SAU DVD which i want to put together in the near future once we have enough footage.

I wouldnt mind people bringing their cameras on the cruise this sunday too to take footage to add to the collection... so take as mmuch footage as possible and copy it uncompressed onto something for me if u please.

Cheers,

Ni.

Ok - Ni. You aren't allowed to have passengers holding camera's whilst driving.

At Phillip Island we snuck the camera's in and got away with it. The big difference is at Phillip Island you can't see anyone once you are out on the track. At Sandown you are visible the whole time. The only way you will be able to use an in-car camera is with an approved camera mount. I don't suggest anyone risk it or else you could get black flagged and kicked out for the rest of the day. Not worth it as much as I'd love a whole lot of cool in-car footage.

BTW - Maserati Day has 2 practise/passenger sessions (well they did last time) per car.

i think Shivam has one - not sure how good it was - i think i heard him saying it was not very stable at Phillip Island - but I could be wrong

I could just go back and read the other thread to find out who volunteered - but its way too long to bother with

hi guys,

yeh that tripod I used @Phililp Island is pretty crap. So much for buying a very expensive camera to capture track days with.

Adz - what sort of tripod do you have? Its hard to zoom into a fast moving GTR whilst zooming in using a cheap one.

If you guys want you are more than welcome to borrow the tripod for the day altho like I said - its crap for anything but still cameras. I won't be able to make it on the day because I have work commitments :P

Ill donate a case of booz for consumption by the professional camera crew, if other drivers want to pitch in then cool, otherwise im happy to foot the bill to keep those in the crowd entertained:alcoholic:

Yeh laugh it up INASNT, the only time you will be near my car is when we are lining up in the pits...after that you will be struggling to keep pace with the old RB20:)

And if the camera is going in my car then ill do my best to provide some entertaining footage, short of putting it into the wall:(

    • Hanging out in Perth for a conference. Asked for a room with a view… got a view of Bustdown Festival   might stroll down and go say hi to Spotto and some of the hoonfluencers
    • It’s definitely just a problem with my car, as there’s bound to be plenty of 4-600hp cars out there running a factory tank with an upgraded pump and or hanger
    • Ah right, that would be a nightmare as I only get 150ish kms before it starts having issues/half a tank, and yeah if I don’t get into it I could run it completely dry, it’s only when it comes into boost it will start to break up, it also does it in every gear which leads me to believe it isn’t fuel slosh/surge as 4th and 5th shouldn’t have enough power to cause an issue. It’s got me stumped 🙃
    • Just to confirm, if you are driving around as if the police were right behind you, you can run the fuel tank down to pretty much empty without issue yeah?
    • Ah, slipped my mind that this is an R32. Unfortunately the fuel tank isn't designed to prevent fuel surge, the tank in the R33 has a much better design.  Your options will be to keep the tank topped up or to fit a surge tank. (also that fuel strainer looks like it's seen better days)
