Hi Folks,

Just bought a '96 R33 GTST and have finally waded through all the bulls***t that goes with transferring an interstate car into the ACT, so thought I would drop by and say hi to all you good people.

I must say this is a fantastic site, and the stuff I have found on here has helped me out a lot as a virginal skyline newbie .

The other thing that I have noticed is that nearly every time I am out driving around I see all these other Skylines that I never noticed before, and nearly everyone waves (can't ever recall that happening in the ol' Falcon, or at least they didn't wave with all their fingers). Tres cool!!

yea i will agree with that despite skylines having bad reps you dont generally see others in cars giving randoms a wave they are nice people :D

also welcome aboard what colour is your ride :D

My 'line is silver and pretty much stock at the moment. The guy out at BDL reckons it's an M Spec (whatever that means?), the first mod is out with the standard stereo and in with an MP3 player. I had to drive the car all the way back from Sydney with no cd's and only the AM radio, at one stage I nearly tuned into 1053 2CA, but managed to turn it off just in time.

Plans for the future are probably all stuff you guys have already got - FMIC, bigger pipe, filter, cranked up boost etc.

Over the last couple of days I have discovered that skylines are "interesting" to drive in the wet - that wanky snow mode on the A/T actually comes in handy for something after all...

See you on the street sometime.

Oooh, snow mode :/ The car i drive daily has that. Turning it on, gunning it, then turning it off has some cool results ;)

And yeah, what a time to be adjusting, just as the heavens open up. Ah well, no time like the present hey :D

If it's a '96 model, then the M-spec doesn't really apply. That was more of a Series 1 thing.

Once again welcome. Have to come to the next meet... if one of us can be bothered organising something, and the rest can be bothered to show up.

Hi John, welcome along! we are a friendly mob. Short notice maybe, but if you (and anyone else) are free 2morrow, there is a cruise planned to Bungendore...idea is to meet up at the jerra pub carpark (my haunting ground) at 1030am for a proposed departure of 1100. maybe buy lunch@bungendore or have a bbq , not sure yet. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us! Again welcome to the forum.

      Thanks mate   It's all coming together finally. It's just a better racecar now and also yeop I've pulled my thumb out and committed and the combo seems to be gelling Depends what you mean by not much more haha There's at least a 1.19 in this My fastest lap posted lost 3.5 tenths in T10 and this was on 80% power and 5 heat cycle old tyres The next session/ lap we did we were up 4 tenths with the car out of the final turn T12 accelerate straight and going with 1 or 2 tenths to come from the power to the finish line and the shifter/gbox combo stopped selecting    So we wouldve had it. The whole thing..   Also repeated this the very next lap up 3 tenths out of T10 and same issue Add some news tyres and we good   Looking forward to a break then yeop WTAC and see if we can actually have a decent run

      Yeah pretty impressive hey, good to see quality products not over-shooting their prices. That's what drew me to buy the hypergear turbo, just a shame I've never got the chance to see it in action

      Thank you GTSBoy and MBS206 I have done the compression test with the motor out of the vehicle, reason for the test was to see if I needed to remove the head and do rings etc while its out. I'm in the process of respraying the vehicle and tidying up a few things. Story behind it all is I've just purchased the skyline and it was running when I got it, never drove it on the street though as I wanted to pull it down and do it all up again before registering it. the gentleman I purchased it from told me the motor has a forged bottom end and has a decent tune through it but I was going to pull the sump off anyway to see if it is a forged bottom end. that's why I thought id do a compression test beforehand.
