Thanks Fatz,

Had a top day... is a good challenging few corners for drift, Nice and long. And to think I was going to behave myself and just drive in the lapping group... pfft!

Thanks Neil mate, was a big shame that we couldn't get that thing of your going for more than 4 bloody laps, but look at it on the bright side, at least you made it worth while for the truck driver!!! :)

thanks pete for organising the day was sweet as, i found it a bit hard to keep speed up enough to get to second corner. but i got the second and third corner linked about 2 times still learning :)

thanks to Mal and Dan for taking me out as well. was great to get to experience drift from the passenger seat.

i must of left before the acco at the end. looks pretty rough!

cant wait to see the footage from Dan's "rear wheel" camera!!!!

cheers

Jase

also why the blanked out number plates? just in case big brother was watching????

Unlike most of the cars there, I did not want to have any warranty issues later on. Car makers and insurance companies often have spy's at the track days taking happy snaps for use later on.

Who said Ford's cant Drift......I had the best track day ever.....Pete, when is the next one

Great day, i struggled alot with understeer in the drift sessions, i've never had my understeer much at all before but it's the first time i've been somewhere big enough to drift higher than second gear. I did some playing with camber and tyre pressures which seemed to help me a little toward the end of the day. I was in the blue gazelle with gold on it by the way.

As for the crash in the drift it was my mate in the two tone gazelle that hit fernando in the gold sileighty. 4 cars were drifting in a row with fernando first, he spun and the 2nd and 3rd cars dodged left and right, my mate in the gazelle was still broadside and tried to spin and miss him but ended up hitting him going backwards. Thats drifting for you though.

I didn't have such a great day ,,,but hey I got to catch up with all you drop kicks which made my pain easier. It pleased  me greatly to see Dan get on pace so quickly. 1st session buddy you were on it. I was also pleased to see the counrty boy hold out that crapy Mini,,,well done mate.

All in All I think SAU had a great day.

Thank Fatz.

P.S. I'M PISSED

Neil.

Cheers, No way I'm letting a mini past the mighty RB20... :P Four hour drive well worthwhile. Thanks Fatz. I'm in next time.

As far as i could tell with the drift crash it wasn't really anyones fault. The 4 cars were drifting as a group and the first one spun, the last guy really didn't have anywhere to go (the other two only just missed the spun sileighty anyways). The two drivers talked later and it seemed cool. The damage was probably about equal to the two cars but the S13 looked much worse.

great to see so many SAUers out there giving it a go, and also that all of us made it home without real incident.

esp well done to the wagga boys for making the effort :(

Pete, I hope you'll be able to ditch some of those driftland bookings and move them to the south circuit again, that was a great mix :)

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
