Yes the slot car and full UAS team will be at this one. Zed is sorted with small rear brakes and drag semi slicks and they fit up etc. Wheel alignment today and a tune tonight after some more incentives. I figure when I do a ten and get thrown out until I get a full cage may as well boot it over the line. 10.5 sounds the go.

Anyway anyone else up for it. Or come watch the boat break or enter the hall of fame.

drag semi slicks

What did ya get and what sizes?

as well boot it over the line. 10.5 sounds the go.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Apart from the fact that it has the potential to do it and I can't really take the piss out of you, I love your wild claims John!! DON'T FORGET THE BURNOUT YOU SOFTIE !!!!!!

Oh, and don't forget your lippy :)

Adrian

BF Goodrich Comp TA Street Radials 275 50 15 bubble gum tyres with ballony side walls. Had to do a lot of mods with custom rear brakes and long studs etc to fit them. Set it up for easy transition back to circuit or drift though.

Got the line locker and yes did a test behind our dyno room and works well. Yes you have shown me the way with the burnout thing. Hard to get rid of the circuit raing hat and looking after the car syndrome.

Had to lose the little purse and lippy that Paul gave me and was hanging off the key ring of the Commodore. The wife and kids were really getting worried so a souveneer on the shelf now. Wonder what I get when I do a ten?

Im thinking I might say something nasty about the boat, tell everyone that Im coming and then pull a heartstring and not turn up. Dont send excuses send time slips!

I dont think I will come this week, I have had my 13 sec of fun and I might do one more once the Mods are done.

Found something interesting about my car zorst on Sat.

Std Dumps ->- I had a 3" Apexi front pipe - >-a 2.5" cat ->- 3.5" high flow race exhaust.

Those crazy japs

I have since replace the 2.5" cat with a 3" 7.5lt cat and a small piece of pipe to a 3" straight through muffler/resonator and left the back half of the 3.5" race exhaust. The car dropped about 5-8db and I picked up a little bit of mid range.

At least I can use the phone in the car now, and even hear myself think.

Got the lap top working Paul and tuned her up on 109 fuel 407.5 rwkw.T Was able to add a bit more timing but not a lot more power up around 7 rwkw. The main problem is the actuators are not strong enough and blow open and will only hold 23 psi. This may sound like a lot for some but the engine can handle much more, and the turbo's could flow a bit more if boost was able to increase.

The best bit is it makes 760nm at only 4400rpm and torque does not drop bad like some, 200rwkw around 3400 rpm and makes 24psi around 4300rpm.

The power does not drop off much high in the revs and keeps going to 7500rpm and will go more. It has such a huge rpm power ban even better than we expected. From 3400pm to make 200rwkw up to 7500rpm.

Great for circuit, drags or drift, won't mention what it would be like on the road. No need to do big launch at drags tomorrow night, just a few revs and floor it.

No exotic turbo's and manifolds with external gates, and only reground factory cams. Just flows smooth and has the right mix of bits.

The best bit is it makes 760nm at only 4400rpm and torque does not drop bad like some, 200rwkw around 3400 rpm and makes 24psi around 4300rpm.

For the love of god, I HAVE TO DRIVE THIS CAR!!

:)

Adrian

I'm not going to be able to make it (again) due to work....... farkit !

I installed softer rear suspension and got rid of the HICAS, got wheel alingnment - so nearly there.

I just got to line up a tune and get the ability to get out there.

Really, I am trying - but shit happens.......

JP - I need to call you !

Remember it has a big fat Zed arse. Might put the big dual rear wing on hey?

Adrian you can be passenger no probs circuit racing but driving? I have seen you do burn outs remember, not driving my beast, can you imagine.

10.894 130.85mph 60foot 1.690 this was late in the night got the tryre pressure and suspension setting right almost out of fuel did a crap burn out Adrian you would have laughed, as got the line lock button on off all wrong, your fault for programming me with that one, did an OK 60 foot and still did a 10.8. the next run did a 1.597 60 foot but missed second gear change bad so pulled out of it. Then ran out fo night and fuel. More in it but now roll cage time before they let me back.

Did the BIG WWW.SKYLINESAUSTRALIA.COM sticker on the back proud.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
