Hey ppls.

Dropped some stuff off to a place near there and dropped in to check them out.

Does anybody have any experiences with them, especially with PFC tuning etc.

They quoted me quite a resonable price so I'm wondering what the catch is if you know what I mean.

All help appreciated.

Genesis i highly recommend!

They did a great job putting a new engine in for me, well priced.

They also were very informative, they treated me with respect, being female ive found that hard with alot or workshops, and they are not just after the money! :)

genesis racing tunes some of J-Spec's hi-po cars including a purpose built high speed RX7 that hits 320 something km/h with a T88 turbo.

The guys there are geniuses and they're one of the few guys I'd take a 250+kw car for tuning.

I can get you the name of the dude that we deal with over there, he's one of the more "educated" tuners out there...

that's the one :D he used to work at a different worksop, but he got the shits and started his own one.

He also fixed a N14 pulsar in 2 hours that took Ice performance 3 weeks something to look at, and I think put a new engine in, and when that still didn't fix it, they had no idea.

i thought ice performance was good since everyone raves about them. so i decided to take it down to them to check a boost leak i was having. they told me they were too busy and CALL them tomorrow. so i call the next day and they make an appointment following thurday 10am .

i rock up on thurday at 10am and guess what ? they not even open?? i calll them up the next day and asked what happened ? they give sum lame ass excuse and we make ANOTHER appointment the following week. So again I drive all the way to Cheltenham and what happened ? Nigel isnt there. hes in court for sum shit so noone can look at it..

i mean wtf kind of business r they running ? i know ppl say they god of PFC tuning but fkn they gotta get their shit together for customer service. When I walked out, obviously fnk pissed off, they didnt apologise or anything and really didnt give a shit about losing a customer.

anyways, called genesis. craig was friendly and made appointment. rocked up and was fixed in 30mins. highly recommended. and their workshop building looks much more professional than ICE which looks like a $2 backyard shed.

/rant ended (frustration vented)

Well, I've had a good chat to Craig the Tuner and I am taking my car to Genesis on Friday morning for the following

RB20 Actuator

PowerFC

PFC boost kit.

He seems very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

He said he has plenty of base tunes to start from according to mods and boost and can load one of them, fine tune it and that will be that.

So tomorrow I am taking my car to F1 Performance who are going to do a base dyno run against boost and AFR so I can overlay the two charts for refernce.

I'll let you know how I go.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
