theres also a new shop... Works Auto Accessories in bentley,

1164 Albany Hwy, 9358 1800

I haven't been there myself yet, mate works there and he said they just got heaps of R33 kits in. Another place that can get kits is Evolution-R in bentley, I was thinking of getting a 400R kit from there when i had my series 1.

Chris.

JiMiH:

That's not actually true dude. In fact, I don't believe any of the bodykits that the Spoiler Shop stock come from Fibrevision. Personally, I am a personal friend of one of the blokes that works there in the sales section and can tell you straight up their kits coming directly from suppliers and definitely not Bruce (Fibrevision). Can I ask why you thought they buy their stuff from Fibrevision?

Everyone else:

I'm sure if you go to their Spoiler shop and ask for Daniel and tell them you are from the Skyline's forums, he'll make sure you get a good price. I know they look after the Silvia club too. They have club discounts available and I know several forums members have already bought products from there (myself included). In fact, one of the Fibrevision employees now works for The Spoiler Shop as a full time fitter/customiser/spray painter!

:)

I only say that because I went to the Spoiler Shop and asked for an R32 GTR front bar and they said $xxx. I then went to Fibre Vision and theirs were a lot cheaper, so I asked why. Then Bruce said that he supplied the Spoiler Shop with their gear, so they had to mark up his prices.

Sorry mate I didn't mean to offend ... I should have got my facts straight first before posting :)

No worries dude. I think my mates a bit pi$$ed off that Bruce is telling people that. I rang him after I read your post and he's the one that asked me to ask why you got that impression. Very interesting about the price. Obviously I don't work for the spoiler shop so I can't say why there is a clear difference in price, but I will make them aware of that fact. As I said, mention your are with the Skyline's club and Daniel should give you a better price.

Take it easy:cool:

Yep that would be David, ex Street Weapons owner/proprietor. He left Fibrevision a while ago...

He painted/touched up some of the Panel's on Skye's Purple 32 GTR. :)

And I'm with you seriesIIgtst...

That's cool mate ... if Bruce is telling people the wrong info then your mate has good reason to be pissed off!

Sorry if anyone got the wrong impression by my post :innocent:

But on another note, I agree that both Fibre Vison and the Spoiler Shop do great work ... I have seen examples of both and think they are very good.

i dont see why the spoiler shop is so expensive, im sure the kits are copies of originals, its easy to make a mould and copy.

You can get a complete commodore kit for half that price, from somewhere like the spoiler factory, OK they only do commo stuff, but the prices and build quality are far superior to the spoiler shop.

Just cause its an import they think they can rip you a new one.

as an example, a 180sx front complete, 650 just to supply it, no paint. 300 for a front lip. Commo kits are half that price, and physically bigger, and require more work.

im sick of people thinking import owners are stupid enough to fall for that crap.

The spoiler shop will never get my business, i havent tried fibrevision yet, next car maybe.

its not so much they assume import drivers are stupid. they see how all other parts for import cars are more expensive than the locally made cars. eg performance and spare parts. and so increase their bodykit prices accordingly, either way its bloody pathetic!

having said that looking at prices for do-luck, veilside, kakimoto and other kits in japan just makes you laugh.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
