Some of the worked V-tech Hondas you see getting round our pretty quick,

fit a better flowing intake and exhaust, shave the head for more compression, more agressive cams, fit a programable ecu and strip as much weight out of the car as you can and you can get them to run 13's.

So if you do the same sort of work to a sportivo there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to go as quick, so being able to beat a stock r32 gts ot gtst really isn't that unbeilivable.

dc5 with exhuast + air filter ran a 14 flat at the drags when i was racing, so im sure with an ecu etc he would have hit the 13;s

Thank-you for using your one and only post on that.

For the record, I'll be happy provide my own R32 for a friendly race against any sportivo claiming to beat a 32 at either Willowbank or Benaraby as we don't condone racing on the streets as you obviously do on your forum.

Enjoy your stay while you're here and try not to learn too much.

Furthermore I don't recall ever racing a Sportivo at Jamboree (or anywhere for the matter) and I think you'll find it is because none of them actually make the 14.99ET cut-off to allow them to enter.

In fact the only corolla of note at this years Jamboree was an AE86 and the only reason it was fast, and was it ever!, was because it had an RB25DET Skyline motor in it.

I'm not one to trash talk other makes but go back to pulsar.org where you have some chance of a valid arguement.

Squizz.

Heh.

I had a squirt with a boxy shape (1986-88 ish) rolla a few weeks ago. The guy thought my car must have been a peice cos he rolled up gave it a few accels (gee up) and then left.

My mate happened to be driving so he did the same. We then pulled over to see what he had.. As I was suprised he had a 4age with a t3 high flow turbo from a rb25 in it he was suprised to have been assed by a worked sr20

Nice guy though - not all rolla's are crap .. having said that it's hardly a sports car. I mean I think there are gemi's out there runnin 11's but you wouldn't catch me dead leaning on one if my corpse ass was on fire O_o

my mate has a new corolla and they have a bit of go. i was actually surprised when i got in it. i dont really think a stock one would be any chance fora r32 gtst but u nenver know what a modded one could do

also about a year ago when test driving cars i had a ride in a 4agze twinky (twin cam boxed shped corolla) and was pretty surpirsed by how quick it was. i think the 4agze is only around 115-130kw but they weigh jack all. spend a couple of grand and throw a turbo on and your laughing. ive always loved old corlloas including SX's.

Hey guys/girls

Firstly i'd like to say that you have some interesting reads on this forum.

One thing that nerves me though is the changing of peoples avatars and signaturs on them (obviously by mods) who are blatently abusing their privledges.

Now whilst I think this topic is an interesting one on this forum, TOCAU site and also the overclockers sight, is there really need for so much blatend sledging of other peoples cars?

I mean has anyone on the TOCAU site bagged your cars to the enth degree and basically told them they are shiet? (not that i see)

Now whilst this is only contained to a few people it does tend to leave an impression for the rest of the forum.

A few people have come to both sites and given their creative criticism and been open minded. Whilst others quite frankly need to grow up and think outside of their small world which is their lunchbox!

For those who have taken this topic with a grain of rice and not said anything thankyou!...also to those who have added some value to it ...thank you....the others....well its not worth mentioning really!

I really do like skyline's and their drivers. I have talked to alot of them and they have been nice enough to return the favour with great conversation (and not baggin other peoples cars) and in most cases given me a friendly sprint on the track!

For the others that continue to lack the mental capacity to string together anything better than "my skiline rocks..and your car is shiet"...im feel sorry for you and your family.

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
