some of the Euro cars on full howl would probably receive a letter if cops thought it was a Jap car. Seen some Maserati's boot it, as well as some Ferrari's, noisey shit... just a different note.... but decibel wise i wouldn't imagine there would be much in it compared to an aftermarket exhaust on a turbo Skyline.

Shit, some of these cars have V12's.... what you need are some of the Euro boys to get letters, the dudes on like $200K+ a year, if those sought of ppl are pissed off, shit happens...

Ah.... just looking at what K posted up.... no ECU, only 1 intake mod, no boost controllers.... WTF?? I didn't know that, and looking at what most ppl have done to their cars?? - looks like garages don't seem to care as they are happy to put all this stuff in our cars...

So does all this mean that those harley bikes and BA turbo falcons with the OFFICAL exhaust upgrade are going to get done by the EPA as well as my pride and joy?????

....yeah right, lets just say I'm not going to hold my breath :)

Saw a P Plater driving a FERRARI the other day :) And a few other P platers in Supras later on.. just lovin the school holidays :

I've heard QLD are more lax, for eg you can have both a Pod filter & intercooler legally... apparently they don't really pull over imports.. is that true?

Why don't you guys just get an engineers cert for all your mods? Or at least most of them..? It's cheaper than actually buying the mod in the first place, right?

with the amounts of canaries/epa's being handed out...your best bet is to invest in some stock gear which goes cheap you can pick it up from the forums (stock exhaust/bov, rip out PFC etc) and stock up your car for a while until the heat blows over! At least you can drive around without getting defected and save up some cash.....who knows maybe i'm just unlucky with the canaries i've copped way too many and enough is enough....i'm sick of the fkn cop lights in my rear view mirror

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
