I woke up this morning about 6ish as I ususally do and decided, for a change, I'll just get an extra couple of Zzzz's. Woke again at 10am - Damn I'm 2hrs late for work..That started my bad day.

Went to log in the PC and advise work I was going to be a tad late, requires a new password today and wouldn't sink via RAS. Sh!t. Oh well I'll rock up to work LATE.

By the time I was ready to go it's 10:30. I'm wearing my suit and spilt my coffee on the shirt and pants. Only suit pants that fit anymore (no fat jokes!). Fine, I'll go casual as I have no client meetings.

Jump in my ride, turns over - no worries. Whilst warming the beast up she stalls. Tis ok I'll just turn her over again and she cranks over - NO Start. 10 minutes later I try again and beautifull off we go. Get near Pialliago and she dies on the Big circle. Hmmm geting angry now.

I know a quick call to Anthony out at Integra's he'll know. "Sounds electrical Richard, might be the Ignitor". I try to start her and were off again. So I finally get into civic about 12ish just as everyones off to lunch.

I then get an SMS from my 18yo neice. "I dont think so".What does that mean?. So I check my phone sent messages, Well turns out I sent her a previous message from the other night that I sent to some one else that said "Ring me and find out babe".

Oh thats gr8 my neice thinks I'm a sicko!. Her names Aimee so it's the first name in my phone. Somehow with keygaurd off I've bumped it enuff to go thru the sequence for sending a message.

I get to the carpark toll gate, push the button - Car park Full - Shit, shit, shit. Fine, I'll just go park over the road. So after parking the car out in the sun miles from work I get out of my car to put change in the machine for daily parking, I have no coins!!!, in fact I cant go get change as my Wallets at home with my suit pants.

Thats it - I just wasn't spose to go to work today.

bit of a bad run for you lately huh mate? all will be ok and you have a group of people on here that will stand by you and help you out, myself included.

just tell your neice i sent her the message and then set up a meeting for the 2 of us so i can explain, then i'll ask her out.........as long as she's hot, pics!!!!!

who gets married before they shag these days anyway? its like getting a ferrari only to find once you've made the purchase you realise its got no engine.

you've really got me thiking now, i could never wait to sleep with a girl untill i've married her, guess its shows the shift in society.

Ah Fark fella's. You got me.

I like to test drive all the time and I wouldn't buy another ride. The two I owned previously must've wound the boost up b'cos after I bought them the rides were few and far between and they just didn't perform like they used too. Talk about the cost of owning and maintaining a ride. The ongoing running costs are for another 5 years and ther'll be no more hard drivin'....he he he!

I do.

So that means i have been married once or twice. lol only joking. Not been married would have to find someone that would have me first. lol.

Sorrry to hear about your bad day Richard

all will be good one day.

Whats a suit??????????

Crkey mate you'd look like Les Patterson - Cultural Attache for the RSL - with a suit on, specially after spillin' coffee...............lol.

I gotta wear shoes now, when I first joined my work we used to be able to rock up in thongs. Still 'T' shirt and shorts/jeans though.

Thats so close to the truth its funny - NOT! :D

Stalling appears fixed as it hasn't happend again. Found an earth wire off the dreaded "IGNITOR" not fixed down properly to the block.

and yeah, it makes my day to be called hun by a babe  particularly a babe interested in Skylines. :P

what a shocker of a day, dunno about les patterson though, sounds more like les norton to me, (robert barrett books) hehehe , how about if I call you sweetheart?? would that help your day some more?? I might not be a babe, just a gal, but I do lust after skylines, would that be ok??? hahaha, yep I have returned from the land of apples, was at the jerra last night until about 7.30pm, saw sexygtst at woolies and then on the roundabout, hope to catch up soon!

WOOOO HOOOO - Guess who's back. Gal...Lust...Skylines....Yeah! Just the first one meets my criteria the rest is a bonus.

Almost called you guys last night. Just missed you at the Jerra.

    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
    • The roof is wrapped
    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
