Just a warning to people driving south of adelaide around Aberfoyle Park/ Happy Valley, there is a guy throwing stone/rocks at peoples windows while driving in the opp direction, pretty scary stuff. It is about the 15 attack in a week. The guy that got hit on sunday thankfully is alive but may not recover fully. So please be watchful.

Safe Happy driving

the guy who got hit in his mazda familia , damien, is a good mate of mine. things are not looking at all promising for him. There's slim chance that he'll make a recovery worth living for.

From what the cop's have said, the absolute ****ing imbecile throwing the rocks is in a white corolla.

I am truly sorry, I am thinking of him and hoping for the best outcome hopefully this guy gets caught fast....

If anyone hears anyone bragging, be sure to get as many details as possible and pass them on to the police.

The media is going to release a few pictures of damian in the next couple of days, friday i think, in an attempt to shock the public in the hope that someone will come forward with information. Read the paper before you have breakfast.

Thanks for the kind words, I hope damien gets better as much as anyone else does.

At this stage he's going to have minor brain damage, has suffered a stroke down the LHS of his body.

I'll keep ya's posted.

Tim

This is really no good.

Keep safe ppls, if we see this(ese) prick(s) be sure to follow & report his number plate to the cops asap.

Hopefully the police do us proud and throw him around when they get their hands on him.

What days (weekends?) & time of day/night to most of these attacks occur?

Hey Tim, really sorry to hear about Damien, please pass on our thoughts and prayers to his family and girlfriend. As a fellow Adelaide dweller and human being this really f**ks me off that some innocent person has to suffer such a personal tragedy and for what? I hope the locals catch that f**kn wank stain before the cops do and show them what a piece of cement feels like at full force! Again Tim, we're all keeping Damien in our thoughts and prayers and I sincerely hope that he recovers as quickly as possible

I saw a early 80's white corolla sedan last night on blacks road at about 12:40am. They threw a U-turn in front of my at the last second that caused them to smack the front of their car up against the little bitchumen gutter bit.

They then got out and walked about 50-100m up the road heading east.

I kept driving and came across a group of cops sitting up near the school, threw a U-turn and saw the dudes standing on the foot path in their what looked like white clothes. A little strange.

People don't normally park their car then walk 50-100m up the road (east).

I grabbed the details 'just' incase. You never know it was a little strange what they were doing.

I was curious so during the time I had driven past them around 3 times.

Tim,

Just a quick word of encouragement to you and for you to pass onto damians parents.Going back many years ago i was seperated from my 1st wife when she and a girlfriend headed off to melb. for a holiday and had a horrific crash near tailem bend, sue was killed in the accident brought back to life by a passing motorist(a nurse) taken to tailem bend hosp stabilised then flown into r.a.h.had many ops spent3mths in coma.Several times i was called in to pay my last respects as they didnt think she would get thru the nite. However the upshot was she made a recovery after many hard mths of physio etc went on too re marry drive a car etc and live a fairly normal life except for the physical limitations that the perminate damage did(eg not being able to lift her left arm above shoulder height)

So Tim and others you can NEVER say NEVER.

Regards.

SKYLINE>(Kym)....

    • How do you propose I cable tie this: To something securely? Is it really just a case of finding a couple of holes and ziptying it there so it never goes flying or starts dangling around, more or less? Then run a 1/8 BSP Female to [hose adapter of choice?/AN?] and then the opposing fitting at the bush-into-oil-block end? being the hose-into-realistically likely a 1/8 BSP male) Is this going to provide any real benefit over using a stainless/steel 1/4 to 1/8 BSP reducing bush?
    • I fashioned a ramp out of a couple of pieces of 140x35 lumber, to get the bumper up slightly, and then one of these is what I use
    • I wouldn't worry about dissimilar metal corrosion, should you just buy/make a steel replacement. There will be thread tape and sealant compound between the metals. The few little spots where they touch each other will be deep inside the joint, unable to get wet. And the alloy block is much much larger than a small steel fitting, so there is plenty of "sacrificial" capacity there. Any bush you put in there will be dissimilar anyway. Either steel or brass. Maybe stainless. All of them are different to the other parts in the chain. But what I said above still applies.
    • You are all good then, I didn't realise the port was in a part you can (have!) remove. Just pull the broken part out, clean it and the threads should be fine. Yes, the whole point about remote mounting is it takes almost all of the vibration out via the flexible hose. You just need a convenient chassis point and a cable tie or 3.
    • ..this is the current state of that port. I appreciate the info help (and the link to the Earls thing @Duncan). Though going by that it seems like 1/4 then BSP'ing it and using a bush may work. I don't know where I'd be remote mounting the pressure sender... to... exactly. I assume the idea here is that any vibration is taken up by the semiflexible/flexible hose itself instead of it leveraging against the block directly. I want to believe a stronger, steel bush/adapter would work, but I don't know if that is engineeringly sound or just wishful thinking given the stupendous implications of a leak/failure in this spot. What are the real world risks of dissimilar metals here? It's a 6061 Aluminum block, and I'm talking brass or steel or SS adapters/things.
