i have it - jap and eng version

whats up ?

Software was purchased, installed, registered and connected OK to my ECU without a hitch, however when I tried to connect it to two other 'pexi ECU's it failed to establish a connection.

I spent a fair bit of time trying to nut it out and it appears to be just the other two ECU's that I have an issue communicating with. So I guess my question is: Is the software only licensed to run on one ECU, or is it the two (non-communicating) ECU's being of a different model/type?

The software works seamlessly with my R33 GTR, so my belief is that the issue lies with the fact that the R34 GTR and R34 GTS-T's Apexi ECU's are not compatible with the R33. The only way I have to determine if the problem lies with a license issue or with a software version issue is to get another R33 GTR with the same ECU as mine (about as easy as it sounds).

This is where you come into it :D . In your travels have to come across the quick answer to this question?

some updates tonight - has been a while...

this is certainly possible - have a look at the product matrix to find out if its supported by your version of FC pro & cable

alright i have now installed a power FC into my car and im having a issue im not sure if it due to the power fc or what

when i give my car the boot then take foot off the accel and put on clutch now and again my car will stall but soon as i let foot off clutch starts up again (like push starting it)

has anyone had this issue mind you it is in a evo so i doubt alot of you have

hi robert,

this can happen if you dont do the self idle adjustment properly

can you confirm you did this correctly?

also i assume you have std bov etc and not an atmo unit ?

if its blank unplugged or loose cable

if its locked on the apexi logo wrong hand controller version

if its locked on a blank screen (but lit up) then loose connector, damaged connector or damaged hand controller

Hey,

I have a RB26DETT FC D-Jetro on its way from nengun and i have the field one touch connecter from greenline. A mate (the_mafia) is re-wiring it to suit my rb20det r32 gtst. He has done the conversion with a normal fc but never djetro.

My current mods

3" turboback

2.5" split dump

GCG Highflow Turbo

Turbosmart boost T

HKS Pod

Walbro Fuel Pump

Fuel Pressure Reg (going to be removed with ecu install)

Splitfire Coilpacks

Plazmaman Forward intake plenum

hybrid fmic

plazmaman piping kit

when ecu goes in (already have waiting)

GTR injectors

3-4" intake pipe

Now we have extablised i can use a vacuume line from under plenum and T off to 2 map sensors. What im wondering is i have read the map sensors need to be spliced into standard loom for airflow meter... so do we cut off plug, and just splice 2 new wires to each existing wire in the airflow meter loom.

Also air intake temp sensor. Where does it go... have been told this will make tune much easier. So basically is there an aftermarket option (bosch) or something that is cheap or should i source one new from nissan?? Will i need to weld any nipples onto piping anywhere or what?

And now for the acc valve. I have a hose going from that to my intake pipe (behind my afm) for now and i have been told i can just put a little breather filter off the valve and leave it at that with the fc... and it will work fine, is this true.

Factory oxygen sensor... should i replace it... i have been told they should be done every 40,000km and my guess is mine is still factory one. I have also been told i wont need it with djetro and it would be a waste of money... in that case can i plug off the dump pipe or should i just leave it or should i replace it.

thanks alot if you could answer these questions. Yes i have read the faq but i could not find too much relating to my issues in depth.

cheers, Leon

Question

*2x R33 GTST Series 2 Skylines

Car A: Has Apexi PFC and Z32 AFM

Car B: Has stock ECU and stock AFM

How simple is it to swap these 2 items between cars as car A is going to be sold and taken back to stockish state. Can we just simply unplug the wiring harness from the ECU's, swap them around and plug right back in and should be fine to drive?

*Cars A and B both have stock turbo's and almost identical modifications (FMIC, 3" turbo-back, fuel pump)

Also, unplugging the PFC and moving to another vehicle... with this retain the tune or reset all settings?

Cheers,

Ryan

if you do a direct swap one for one it should be ok - the worst is it wont idle, if it doesnt then youll need to do DATA INIT to do the self idle adjustment (you will loose the tune). the tune is always retained even with power off and unplugged. its only erased if you do DATA INIT

    • Are you sure the gasket is blown? What are the issues? Thermocure is the only flush I've seen do anything with rust, very impressed with that, Prestone, rust will be by the pool having a cigarette.
    • And since the flush you have a blown head gasket? Have you lifted the head off yet?
    • The answer is to get a hold of the wiring diagram, work out what voltage is supposed to be where, when, and then work out why it is not there, then. I can't speak to the HR34 stuff, because I have never paid any attention to the NAs. There is a possibility that the turbo diagram will help, but it could also be different - depending on whether there is an FPCM on the NAs.
    • Hey guys. New here. I am having an issue with my hr34. The fuel pump isn't turning on. I removed it from the tank. Bench test it. Wasn't working. Order new one and installed it today. Still not turning on. Checked the relay. Relay has voltage on the contact side. I jumped it and it tuned the pump on. Which lead me to checked the coil voltage.  Turned on the ignition and had my meter across the coil and there wasn't any dc voltage. Had my meter lead on the positive and I used the frame ground and noticed there was 12 volts. Which lead me to believe the relay isn't getting a negative signal. I traced the wire ( black with pink strip).it goes back to the bottom on the steering and it gets lost into the harness.   I checked at the ecm and I can't seem to find that wire color.   My question if any one knows is. Can I not just run the negative through a ignition relay to turn on the fuel pump relay?. Or anyone ever had this issue and if so how did u go about fixing it.
    • So many people don't notice it, as batteries decay slowly over time. Two big reasons people end up noticing and needing to replace batteries: 1) The cold weather. The cold not only makes it harder to turn the engine for a few reasons, but it also increases the batteries internal resistance. So this means you need MORE power to turn a colder engine, AND the battery has a lower limit on how much current it can provide. 2) Something gets modified/altered/added in the wiring, typically an aftermarket accessory, like a dash camera, or an alarm etc, and this adds a small amount extra onto the battery, and pushes it over the edge in its failing days. But if you hadn't have read this thread, and just pushed through, chances are you might have made it through this winter, just. But come next winter, it would have been kapoot. But the fact you changed it out now, means you've instantly noticed how much nicer it is for starting, and will be less worry for you that the engine won't start now.
