Hey all,

well ive just had a 100,000km service done (change timing belt, radiator flush, full service and tune) i dont think this problem has been occuring long (certainly not before i got it done) but today i noticed that in first, after being in a stationary position, taking off sometimes it will semi pop or something.

By this i mean that usually when the foot comes off accel and u let it coast i can often get your standard sort of gurgle/popping.

Well in first when i take off sometimes, and have my foot on the accel, it will actually pop once or a couple of times, maybe its a misfire ?? I lose a lil power for an instant when it does it but yeah.

Dont think its clutch cus

1. just had it replaced

2. it doesnt feel like its slipping, and dont get any extra revs or anything that i can see/hear

Any help as to pointing out what this is ?

My car pops and gurgles on most gear changes if i leave a gap in the change. ie if I change gear slowly

Not too sure if its just that your experiencing. If it is, im no mechanic but its probably nothing.

Possibly gap in your spark plugs are too big? I had that problem and car was running like shit on boost (but you shouldnt be having that problem :P )

I would think if it is occurring under acceleration then might be a coil pack on the way out. If they are goin to phuck up then it will be just after they have been move (plug change). Spray some CRC or simular on the areas around your coil packs that will stop them arcing on the head and that should stop the misfire.

or... take it back to where you got the service/work done and let them fix it. Thats if it was working fine before you went in. They probably would be able to tell you what it is straight away.. after all it is what they do for a living

Brett,

Timing belt off by one tooth - ouch - don't say that! I can hear poor daniels wallet opening WAY too wide

I've never heard an N/A misfire like that before hey... on acceleration i mean :| But in a turbo it's usually coil packs or base timing well-retarded, or just plug gaps!

Mirkz try this.....It works. :)

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
