White smoke when cold car??

When my cars cold it blows white smoke when i give it. IS this bad?? and whats worst black or white smoke in a car.

white smoke is usually something dodgy with the engine but i would have thought it would be more so under load it would blow white smoke not just when its cold are you are its not like vapour ??? also black smoke is generally when its running rich

i jst got my car tuned and now it does it. i jst remember seeing white smoke cuming out the exhaust.

I know ur not supposed to give ur car when its cold, but if i do thats when it smokes

yeah when my cars not propperly warm n i let the turbo wind up a little bit i get vapor

White is oil

Black is fuel

Blue is a combo of both....

Once i had to start this little datto 120Y that had not started in 2 years... I blew rusty brown smoke for about 5 minutes... LOL

Id say ifs its only blowing when cold. Could be a turbo seal givin out or a piston oil ring a bit worn... If youwant do a comp test when the engine is cold. Take this reading, then pump a touch of oil into each piston threw the spark plug hole, then do the comp test again. This will prove if its the piston rings and if yes then which piston is doing most of the mischafe... If the results are within 10% of the original test with out oil. Id blame a sel in the turbo....

vapor is just condensation in the exhast on a cold morning.... Perfectlly normal...

The vapor will disapear straight away. If its smoke it will waft into the distance....

Well u need to do a comp test as described above...

Lets hope its the turbo as this is cheap and easy to replace....

Blue is old-old-old oil dude... (thanks why 80's flacons blow blue, cause they were'nt serveced this centry... LOL)

New clean oil is white....

water will be condinsation, we just confirmed its smoke not condensation....

col-gtsx i jst got my turbo hi flowed mate. This was less than a week ago u think its ***ed already? U think they gave me a bad hi flow?

Go and burn some oil using a wick and see what colour smoke their is.....

actually knackaz is right, blue is oil, black is fuel and white is water/coolant.

thats what i was taught at trade school by my lecturers who'd been in the trade for over 30 years so you'd think they'd be right.

Water/coolant is vapor, it will dissapear within a second of leaving the exhaust. Would not even see it from inside the car.

Go and burn some oil and see what colour it produces.... Dab a bit on your exhaust manifold and watch it smoke and then come back and tell me what colour it is....

I also admitted that blue smoke could be a sign of fuel and oil.....

In a skyline reving fuel is common to blow out.... More fuel may even cause a flash....

Ive had a fire in my exhaust before..... Busted the cat and destroyed the muffler.... But yeah.. Too much fuel and oil is a bad thing... LOL

I dnt know if it blew white smoke before the hi flow because ever since ive had my car i warm it up properly. I dnt let the turbo kick in before the cars warm. Just the other day i flatened it when cold and saw the smoke.
