Had my R33 GTS25t tuned at RUF performance today. I was reasonably happy with the result (185.5rwkw @ 12psi), although I was optimistically hoping for a little more to be honest. Power curve looks good all the way to the rev limit though.

Current mods are:

Power FC

Profec B Spec II EBC (12psi)

Blitz LM Intercooler

3" Cat Back Exhaust

K&N Panel Filter

Not sure what mods to do next - I wouldn't mind having 200+ rwkw :)

definatley do dump/front pipe and hi flow cat, 10rwkw for sure + bit of money on side get exhaust cam gear that will see u over 200 for sure...

start preparing for a bigger afm and maybe even injectors, once youve got 200 it wont be long till u want more, and more heheh

Thanks for the comments. I had replacing the front/dump pipe and getting a hi flow cat on my list of things to do...just didn't really have the dosh to do it right now (it was either that or get the ebc...I decided to get the ebc cause my bleed valve couldn't hold boost). I'm kinda hungry to get to 200rwkw though, so I might just put the credit card into more hurt town and get the exhaust work done in the next month or so. Can anyone recommend a good exhaust shop in Sydney? Also I've seen the split style dump pipes here. Are these the way to go?

Also, how much would an adjustable exhaust cam gear cost approximately?

My front/dump pipe dyno review here

My Ex Cam Gear dyno review here

Theirs a solid 15-20rwkw for you :P

Edit: What happened from 6500-7000rpm?

Interesting results you got there - good to see there's a fair improvement with both sets of mods.

As for what happened between 6500-7000rpm, that's a bloody good question! I do know that the tuner set the rev limit to just over 7000rpm, but i've got no idea why the curve didn't print out for the last 500rpm.

Approx $160 to purchase (nengun) and $100 to fit/tune.

Best bang for buck you'll get although your power curve is very nice so you may not notice as much as what I did.

lovely curve you have there, all i can really suggest is a dump pipe for sure and i suppose why not get the exhaust cam gear as well becuase for the relatively low price, results such as what benm got from it are possible.

after that, make sure you pay off the credit card first becuase mods after that stage make the credit card go into hurt town a lot faster...haha...good luck with the quest for 200rwkw

An adj cam gear (usually only put on the exhaust cam on RB25det engines) lets you fine tune the camshaft to the engine.

Most people have found that 3 to 4 degrees retarded on the exhaust cam works well, or is at least a good starting point.

Have a read through Benm's thread (link is above), it's a good write up.

That graph looks VERY like mine when I run it for the first time with that dip in around the same spot, I didnt a a PFC though just a MINES chipped ECU other mods about the same though. That dip in power (on my car) was from it running rich(a slite miss) and all we could do at the time(because I had no tunable computer) was change plug gaps from .8 to .7 and it gave a perfect power curve and took the top power too 201kw with a huge gain in midrage. So id be looking at your air/fuel ratio in that 4000rpm range and that might just take you to your 200kw your chasing.....

Hey mason have you seen a yellow s5 rx-7 at ruff b4.He's a mate of mine.
Nah, didn't see it when I was there. There was a couple of nice looking Evo8's behind the workshop that caught my eye though...

Just had a look on the Greenline website and they've got a variety of adj cam gear's for around $160-$190 + freight. After seeing the results benm and Jay95R33 got with them, I think I'll invest in one of them once I've done the front/dump pipe...seems like a good bang for buck improvement.

muaythailuke, thanks for the advice. The tuner did say that he played around with a few things to try and smooth out the power curve in the mid-range. I'll mention the a/f ratios to him next time I'm down there...hopefully they might have the a/f graph still on file so I can take a look at it.

Turbo made 563rwkw on mainline hub dyno at around 24-25psi boost - Pump fuel. Will def make over 600kw on e85. Didn't bother as my e-MAP was through the roof with my setup sitting past the choke line. I have a cnc ported and fully built head on my 3.2. Turbine speed saw max of around 109k rpm. I'm running this on my R32 GTR, with AC, and the original power steering pump. The manifold clears the AC lines, ABS, and everything else. Although I had new AC lines because I just wanted new ones and I heat wrapped them as well. This will make more power on a slightly lower capacity motor with a higher PR. And I have since upgraded to a G45-1500. Have pics and videos if need be.  Absolutely nothing wrong with setup. Turbo is in perfect condition. No shaft play or oil leaks at all. All the work was professionally done. The transient response of this is fkn amazing. I cannot rave more about this turbo. If I wasn't chasing 4 figures, I would have kept it. $5000 NZ.
