Rb25 box behind rb20?

hey guys,

now im aware bellhousings match up... but will my hks twin plate rb20 clutch work with the rb25? also are there any difficulties doing this conversion?

Nup it wont or so Ive heard(from FBI) without buying a few extra bits which are expensive so just sell it to me if you want.

the rb20 box - yes ill sell to you... rb25 box is going in one way or another

umm nup it wont ones push the other is pull type? so you need to buy a kit to convert it. Adz I was taking about the clutch Im still after one.

by the way Adz www.option1garage.com.au (I think) have a O/S twin plate for 33/34 that I was hoping would fit my car but it wont for around $400 it would need new plates(around 300 -400 each from www.otomoto.com.au) Id say but it still a good buy.

Series 1 RB25 box's are push type.

Series 2 RB25 box's are pull type.

i just put a 25 box in my 32, everything bolted up fine. I am running an exedy button clutch and all seems to be working well so far.

The clutch will bolt up ok they are the same size.

But the series 1/2 boxes are push/pull type.

Don't think you can just change the slave cylinder over, so i would try to get the correct slave with the box so you can just bolt your clutch lines straight to it.

if the box is push type it will bolt up, if its pull you can convert easily and costs about $200, once the box is on you need a custom mount, a custon tailshaft and a different speedo drive, do a search its been done in detail manytimes

my 32 has a rb25 box and a hks twinplate ... waxs all done in japan so not sure how but they did it ... hks twinplate is rocksteady

so pending i get a series 1 r33 push type box all should be sweet bar custom tailshaft and aftermarket urethane gbox mount...

also are there any differences strength wise between series 1 and series 2 boxes?

U need a custom gearbox x - member, not the gearbox mount. (Although i do have a urethane gbox mount on mine, and it does make vibration/noise worse through the chassis...ie slight vibration)

The tailshaft needs the rb25 yoke out the gearbox, the r33 geardrive (little plastic cog on end of speedo drive), R32 gtr speedo drive (mount r33 cog on end). Tailshaft can be custom (i heard someone may make one for the conversion?)

Pretty sure no difference in strength between the two boxes.

I may be wrong but I think all R33 GTST are push type
