lol - thanks Gary... i think :Paranoid:

I was going to keep it very sleeper looking - but the wheels blew that plan... even several weeks ago i played around with the dumb idea of getting personal plates "SLZZPER" (until I realised doing that would in itself negate it being a sleeper!!). But yeah - I just found those 18" rims with tyres last week rummaging through a second hand rim dealer's back of shop stock - and SWAPPED them for my stockies and tyres plus one other set of old 17" rims without tyres! :)

But about your query - got the car from MJR Motorsport in QLD - talk to Steve (or Murray) - great bloke to deal with. I put my name on it about 2 1/2 months ago, but just got my hands on it 3 weeks back :)

They are a RAW for stags so import, comply and sell themselves - so less middle men to pay at our end. Mine only has 45,000kms with service history and there is seriously not a single hairline scratch or mark on the entire body - so I was pretty stoked and got a great deal as well (PM me for full deal details if you want). Pretty sure they will happily try and locate specific car requests on their buying trips if they can... not like a broker though probably - they'll still prob not reveal auction price and negotiate on market value terms id imagine - was thinking about doing this at one stage coz i originally really wanted dual sunroof - but the deal on this one was just too good to pass up :)

:P

I went to MJR and missed that yellow one by a couple of days, they said it was going to Perth. They tried to sell me a red series 1 but I really wanted the series 2 and ended up finding a pearl coloured one but next time I drove past MJR they had a black series 2 in there but they were determined to sell me the red one they didn't bother telling me about the black one coming, makes you wonder.

I'm happy with the one I have but a yellow one would have been a bit more visual.

Gary :bananaman :bananaman

LOL dammit i told them i wanted a black series 2 and they didnt tell ME about that one dammit!! Oh well - I like my banana now more than black anyways ... I think... hangon - so did u get the black sereis 2 in the end? ... could be potential for a swap! :P

:P

Hey Brazen

I got a pearl coloured one but would have liked the black one but they didn't say anything about it.

Where did you get that grill and the eyebrows from? I am trying to get some just like that TAKEROS/TAKELOWS but not having much luck, nobody returns my EMails.

Gary

??? Nah that pic is what i WANT mine to look like... but from that pic - the eyelids are DOLPHIN, as is the grill.

Once I decide what I want, I can get my kit easy enough - my mechanic goes to Japan every so often on buying trips for parts etc... so he said hed be able to pick up kit bits for me when Im ready. So yeah - for aeroparts shops that dont ship international - Id suggest getting chummy with a tuner or caryard that goes to Japan to fill containers every so often and asking them to go in and get what u want off the shelf in Japan.

:P

    • I drive the Tiguan much harder than the Skyline in all conditions, because it just grips and hooks, unlike the R33 shit box
    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
