can i ask what sort of 2point immobiliser was it???

eg. ignition???

and do you have an idea how long it took them?

sorry 4 all the q's

the car was left at the parking spot of Food for less on the boulevard in fairfield west... yea i think it was ignition & breakin, but no good at all!

yea they r coloured ones....everything is wrecked..the wires the ignition!

1st mistake!!

when u get a new alarm make sure all the wiring are black!

mine are. and get a 3+ point immobiliser i also use a pager and theres room for more outputs that i use.

awesome news man....congrats it could have been much MUCH worse!

the people who did my car alarm (who I shall not name!!!) assured me that there were installing with only black wires and Iasked this several times. But when I checked myself...BAM COLOURS!....all sorted now..but double check ay!

thanks guys! can u suggest me some very good security systems for cars and also wher to get em if youz kno plzzzz... cheers

Congrats on getting it back dude, I hope you get all the problems fixed up and that it's alright mechanically!

Definitely invest in a good alarm, and like others have said, go for all black wiring. I would also be very very weary about where you park and also who you tell about the car.

All the best! Ciao.

hi mate,

i have a strong feeling, that the dealer you brought your car off, had another key, and then they used it to move the car outta the car park, and then they broke the ignition barrel to make it look like a theft. maybe post a pic up of the rims they put on, and keep an eye out for parts that were taken. make sure that you do not name the brand of the alarm on here becasue we are not the only ones who look at this forum.

I think all those immobilizers and alarm are all bullshits!

My friend's integra got broken into in Macquarie Shopping Centre few weeks ago..

They took almost everything inside and sprayed the whole interior with water.

Guess how they got inside? None of the windows are broken and there is no traces of how they break in..all we saw was just a small scratch at the bottom of the driver's door handle..I guess thats how they got into the car by inserting something thin like a rod through it. They broke the alarm siren and took off the battery.

I think the best way to do is to take out our door panel and seal a metal plate at the door handle.

I'll be getting my car this week and im pretty paranoid bout this stealing and breaking in stuffs...

**** those ****s man!

Same thing happened to SKYR34's car...no window smashed nothin man...just a small scratch at the bottom of the driver's door handle...should ask him where he bought the integra from??

All the stuff that got stolen was the dealer's aftermarket stuff that he did as a favour to SKYR34...

One of my brother's cars got stolen from in front of our place..... They forced door locks n ripped off the ignition barrel ... was about 2am or something... Doing this created enough noise to wake us up.... anyway... They took off down our street which kinda looks like this...

map.gif

So they couldn't get to the main road (cause it just don't link up) and it takes over a minute to go round the block (even at high speed)... in that time my dad and brother were in 2 other cars (one was a modern commodore which would way out perform the old Ballina that was stolen)...

Anyway at the same time we rang the cops... cops did nothing until we told em that we were chasing the thieves... We kinda lost em cause we were slow getting outta bed n finding the keys etc ... but the cops immediately dispatched a whole lotta cars and that night only a few hrs later the car was recovered having been dumped about 1-2km away...

They still managed to do a few k damage to the car

Guys.. Firstly

DONT TALK ABOUT WHAT ALARM YOU HAVE ON THE FORUMS!

no doubt car theives have computers and can look at these forums. Telling the world what kind of alarm you have will only make it easier for them to break into your car.

Your alarm should be a 3 point system, black wired and installed by someone who knows what they are doing. It took over 6 hours to install the alarm in my car, and it was not cheap. If you spend less than $1000 bucks then your not getting a decent system.

Look around at your options, if your really worried then their is tracker systems on the market.

SKYR34, it's fantastic that you got your car back. sorry to hear that it has damage but no doubt that will be easily fixed. What you should do now is go to a workshop / auto electrician and get him to repair the damage. Then go out and get a good alarm system.

Also, do you type like that on purpose? It makes communication very awkward.

haha

yeah, it's annoying when people type like that. This is a forum so you've got plenty of time to type out the full words instead of typing lyk dis u no wat i meen, d00d?

anyways, glad to hear you got ur car back.

my car on the other hand, is gone. it's officially a write off.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
