Gday,

My car weight = 1350kg (yeah subs, sound deadening and zip ties)

2 dynos.. one said 180 the other said 200rwkw.

Can anyone tell me the ET and 60ft time I'd be expecting first time down the quarter?

I realise suspension and tyres make a difference and currently they're hard coilovers + low profiles, so I'm not expecting good times but would still appreciate a guesstimation within a second.

I'm wondering if I could get 13 with around 2.4 60" ??

Thanks :)

Just to give you a comparison, I ran a 13.7 (2.4 60") in my R33 which would be a similar weight (perhaps a little heavier). When I ran the car, it was making 185rwkw.

Similar power, similar weight - i'll let you draw your own conclusions on an approx ET you would run

Thanks guys.

So hopefully with the subs out, more boost (210-220rwkw) and some OK driving I should see mid-low 13's. Good to know.

Just out of interest did you guys use stock suspension or coilovers? And lo-pro tyres?

Thanks.

Guys buy some drag radials and run what your cars are really capable of like 1.6-1.8 60fts which would put Roy into the 11's

Im after a true street time with my street tyres. Not interested in a time card i can only run 1% of the time.

Yeah it'd be nice to borrow someones set of radials and take out my subs and spare tyre etc for 1 or 2 runs so I can say I dipped into 11's or 12's (if it's possible). But really I'd like to also know the time my car runs with subs, petrol and spare wheel on lo-pros.. ie. how it is on the street :P

But thanks guys this is making me optimistic that with some practice I could hit mid low 13's and maybe even high 12's.

Thanks everyone!! (ps. bob if you end up getting a set I'd like to pay for 1 use one day heh)

Im still looking good for those tyres, just trying to par up someone down here to go halvies with me:) I need new semi slicks as well for track days that are coming up and the prospect of having to spend close to $3,000 on rubber scares me:(

Not really, its just that the car needs good rubber to get the power down, so that $1800 for the Dunlops for track and street, and i want to grab the BF Good rich drag radial and soem 16s to see if i can run around a 12.2:) So there you go 3k:(

And the susp i want isnt available yet, so am waiting for it to come onto the market , otherwise i have to spend about 1k more on an equivelant setup that is currentyl available.

I've got some RE55's already. It's not the same though I don't think. What if you wait an hour for a run then they are cold so you do a burnout and waste half of them then I wont have them for the track.

I suppose I'm just whinging and drag radials would get half wasted doing burnouts anyway.

...

Can you see me screaming "NOOOO!!!...my poor tyres!!!:("

Burnouts at the drags with 24psi DOES knock around the D01Js:(

But apparantly its the thing to do, so when at Calder...:)

Sorry..shameless posting of pics...i have hand feeds over these photos:)

My skyline weighs 1400kgs and with only 175kw(235hp) at the rear wheels on street tyres with sub in the boot spare tyre jack everything i ran a best of 13.60 at 102 mph with a 2.1 60ft with TRX rims which are only 6 inch wide. the only advantage i have is that with the 31 i do not have IRS so better intial traction. I am running 33 motor and box so the diff is the only difference but the ratio is about 3.8:1.

also i had dropped tyre pressures down to 20 pounds

since then have had the car tuned properly and now making 182kw's at the wheels and having rebuilt the LSD am waiting to run again hopefully lower in the 13's

Hmm wonder how my 235/40/18's Nankang (WOO GO THE CHEAPOS!) will go? :)

Ahh who cares I just wanna run it once or twice and see what I get. If anyone from here is going in the next month or two to the 1/4 please let me know so I can ask some q's and run with you :(

Cheers guys.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
