Gerard, my mate and I bought this from England after playing the Addon SimBin developed for the F1 series.

Having played this and GT4...well, GT4 is a con. It is just kiddie platform crap in comparison! I checked with EB and they had no idea the sim existed, let alone plans to sell in Oz.

I have a rig setup with a Logitech MOMO FF wheel, a seat with 2 impulse drivers for vibration feedback and good speakers from Hercules. I didn't bother with the other gameplay levels but went straight to pro. Some who play GT4 have tried and completely fail to control the cars.

Unfortunately I don't get enough time to play online much but that is a lot of fun. Overall I find it a good substitute while the track car is off the road. Now to get my mate online and whup his butt again :D

Awesome stuff... sounds like you got a sweet as setup!!!

One site said a possible release date for aus was may 7th, then i read another site saying it will not be released due to poor market research.

I even asked at a gamestore and had the same answer ( what game is that) they had never heard of it.

I havent tried the online mode yet, deffinately be getting around to it this weekend though!!

It's much more polished in the final release, and even the english release has been improved over the german copy (which I also have).

Online racing leagues are brilliant and dispose of the AI BS that makes them boring with the added advantage of competing toward a goal.

When we get a few with the game I'll set up a small league. We can hook up every couple of weeks for a race.

I've got GTR FIA GT Racing, what can I say but this game is f*ckin awesome. Forget trying to play this game without a wheel. I use a Logitech Momo FF, and went straight to simulation mode with all assists off except traction control (man is it hard to keep straight with it off) Only had it a few days and for the 1st time tonight played it with another mate on a server we setup. What can I say but its kickass

This game is no arcade crap thats for sure, its a pure simulation, the best I have ever played. It has it all, try going hard on the 1st lap with the tyres cold you will spin, tyres go off if you don't treat them right, ie too much wheelspin etc. Do a donut and you'll blow a tyre in no time. Go off line and there is no grip, you understeer off the track etc etc.

The sound in this game is awesome also, you can hear your front tyres scrubbing with too much lock on and you understeer off the track. You really need to feed the throttle on or lookout it will spin. You really have to drive these cars unlike all other race games where they just seem so easy after playing this.

I'd be keen to play in a GTR FIA GT Racing league and I'm sure I can get some Aussie's in from our clan www.r2clan.com to give you guys a run for ya money. Like I said I've only had it a fews days and in between spinning have so far managed a best lap of Spa in 2:13.3s

Anyone who wants to see this game in action, I have made an in game video, racing the Ferrari 550 around Spa, its 100meg (ouch says those poor 56'kers)is in DivX format, with the obligatory huge crash and some donuts/burnouts/fishtales at the end.

Go and get this game now, forget GT4 it pales in comparison to this game, its a true simulation not some acarde kiddies game.

Cheers

Let me know when some of you guys get it and we'll hook up and have some races on a private server we setup. Just had another game tonight, what can I say but this game is awesome, Go and get in now, right now, but make sure you have a wheel, cause its virtually impossible to play without one. You can play arcade mode, but you may as well not bother buying this game if you play arcade mode only. Its simulation mode where this game comes into its own.

Cheers

I also use a force feed back seat (yep, I'm a nerd) with 2 aura interactor drivers mounted. One behind the small of the backk and one under the seat. Really enhances the experience. I also intend to get the TrackIR to allow mw to use my head to pan the view.

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
