If I had my way, we would go to the Thai near Duncan and Kel's place.

Good parking and cheap, with a bottle shop next door with the super chiller:cheers:

I SECOND THAT !!!

I think thai orchid should be the default location if we cant make up our minds....

plus you also get hours of entertainment watching duncan try and work the "super chiller":(

Thai Orchard is good,  but how about a something different for a change?

Heh heh yeah, we eat that stuff at least once a week.

My point was really about mixing it up, maybe going south or west for a change?

I'm happy to try somewhere other than northish. it's just that that's the areas that we know restaurants so we tend to recomend places there.

I'll have a think for somewhere southish and post it up.

The only places I know of South are around Brighton - probably *not* the best spot for us!

I'll ask around and see what else I can find.

There's Big John's in San Souci (on Rocky Point Rd). Big and cheap Italian food (mains pasta dishes are huge and only cost $15 or so, seafood is their specialty). If we make a fairly large booking (say 20 or so) we should be fine. Last time our group of 8 had a booking and still had to wait an hour :O However that was on a Saturday and they had a big gorup booking which had priority.

Parking isn't the best as it's street parking but the area is fairly safe.

Italian seafood restaurant....and yes the dishes there are HUGE !!

went there for a mates bday and we had like 8 people....and we couldnt finish the seafood platter for TWO......

Like cereal mentioned the area is pretty safe....plenty of spots on the side street around the corner..near the KFC.....I got there early and manage to score a spot right in front of the restaurant :O

and omg..the bruchetta(sp?) there is like half a loaf of bread....

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
