Okay guys, who has dragged rexes and do we beat them or not.

I am going for in mainly stock standard form here. I am dragging one next week stock standard VS my stock standard, we got slightly more power similar torque but weigh alot different.

Do you think I am going to get to the limiter first or the rex.

Then i know I can shoot my mouth off before hand. and yes I can drive well no slow ass shifting and letting revs drop etc. BOTH CARS ARE SCARY STOCK STANDARD MONSTAS, lol

thanks blokes.

hmmff, i would never drag on public roads, hehe

yeah thats what i was thinking strich9 cos, the last one i went up against I was at the limiter first, but i wasnt sure if it was due to poor driving or what.

better get that octane booster cranking hey

thanks for da help.

I think driver ability will have a bit to say. Make sure you do an ecu reset. Although alot of people dont believe in ecu resets, after traffic driving for a while, my car used to run out of puff at 6000rpm, resetting the ecu and she would pull to redline.

EDIT: If all things are equal, the 60' of the wrx will probably make life very difficult for you.

I have dragged heapsss of standard wrx's and havent lost yet and my car is stock standard and auto they get about    a quarter of a car length of the line but as soon as you both have traction the skyline just bridges the gap and eats the rex top end ay

your car isn't stock? What about the bleeder ad exhaust?

from what i've seen even lightly fiddled gts-t's pull 14's.. i dont think a bog stock gts-t will scare a wrx.

The stock R33 GTST does a 14.2, not on a real drag strip but then again none of the times for production cars are on real drag strips they are usually on a street type surface. This puts it in the hunt for the "bug-eye's" as new, but then again 4wd and the fact that the RB motor will have done more km's makes the WRX a favorite.

Not long now Ryan

Then you can all take turns.

Compared to my brother in laws stock GTS-t and my initial impression of the WRX...the WRX will absolutely blitz a GTS-t off the line even with the 'line getting an ideal launch. The line would overhaul it eventually but probably not before the 400m mark..

My old R33 went up against a WRX at Kwinana and took 350m plus to draw alongside. My car wasn't stock and was running in the 13.8's that night from memory.

Cheers

I've driven a Tommy Mak EVO IV and they are sensational.

I'd have one in an instant but at $38k drive away for the WRX or $70k for the EVO it's no contest I'm afraid.

All performance cars have their strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy driving anything that the manufacturer has tried to put performance and soul into...even dunnydoors so I wouldn't knock any of them.

yes, my point is, if mitsubishi had continued with the GSR style cars and brought in the evo's as subaru did with the wrx's it would be a differant culture car wise here. Evo's are more popular in japan and i can see here a great evo vs wrx rivarly akin to that of holden vs ford etc. :D

I was talking about when my car was stock about 3 or 4 months ago, I dont think anyone with a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back is stupid enough not to realise it is a substantial mod, and as with the bleed valve or why else would they bother?

Thanks peeps,

I guess i will just have to bite the bullet and give it a go.

The car is stock apart from an air filter pod, which i did recently. i cant really see too much difference that it made cos there is no partition etc. so it is probably a negative thing i have done, lol

anyways the whole point of this so called drag was to see who gets to 180 first. no 1/4 mile etc etc. if I hit 180 and he is behind then its done and done no dramas, rematches or arguments. I didnt have much hope of 1/4 mile cos I figured that the rex would get me with the launch.

i think it is a 1998 rex and i got a 1996 line with pretty low (doesnt look dodgy) kms so it should be fun. I am interested to know probably update yall on wednesday.

dragged this v8 ute the other nite. falcon xr8 about a 1996 also. it went pretty hard but i beat that, though it was only till all the traffic got in the way at about 150.

no summoner it wasnt a holden so feel free to diss away

hmm anyone know how long it takes to fit a bleed valve. any idea on brand versus ease, versus can it be done by wednesday

let me know and then maybe i can just feel confident that i cheated but still won

woohoo

hey another thing. there is an HKS actuator that you can get its around $250, and it raises the baseline boost level apparently. so any other mods you do will only increase the boost on top of that, apparently ups it to about 11 from 7 or something. and it is HKS so i spose it can be trusted.

if anyone knows about this let me know, though thats not gonna make it by wednesday

thanks again guys

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
