So has anyone actually decide to stay up for the night?

I hadn't noticed this thread previously, but thought it seemed like a much better idea then getting up at the crack of dawn on a cold winter's morning to drive up.

I've had a quick look on wotif.com and the accomodation prices are pretty reasonable, so I'll probably book something later today (once I actually send my entry form in ).

If anyone's interested in catching up on the Sat night for a few drinks and a bite to eat, let me know. This is the first time the misses and I have come out to one of these events, so it would be good to meet up with some of you guys beforehand and put some faces to the names.

Yep we'll be up there the night before, I am a big fan of beers the night before and a cozy sleep in the next morning  Dan, Jodie, Adam and Jaala are staying up there too http://www.ozhorizons.com.au/nsw/hv/citigate/loc.htm

Happy for others to join us up there :)

Sorry we missed you all, saw heaps of Skyzers in the carpark.

We were there - also saw a heap of Skylines (and a Ceffie) in the carpark :)

We came down to the restaurant/bar during the evening to see if we could find anyone, but not knowing anyone from a bar of soap made it a little difficult. We ended up going somewhere else to eat anyway as we couldn't get a table in any case. Next time... :P

Tell me about it...that carpark was nuts. I had to do 3 point turns to get down the ramps between each level.

Speaking of tight, I also saw a gunmetal (?) 33 in the carpark that was wedged between a pole and an inconsiderate 4wd that decided it wanted to share it's car spot. I would've been a bit worried leaving my car there...I hate parking next to 4wd's.

That was me... figured that I was there after him, and I was leaving around 7am... so hopefully he would still be there in the morning, which he was... I had to fold my mirrors in to get in there just so I could squeez out the door to get in/out of the car... and I'm not that big a bloke. lol

we were the group in the corner near the bar... just in case you saw us.

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
