I have no idea what you're insinuating.... if you want to make accusations, check that you can back it up first :) (I don't break the law, because every time I have done, I've been busted for it)

But back on topic,

I'm partial to a bit of Crown and Anchor.

gambling is pure luck. The odds are always against you. If you win, then you had good luck. If you lost, then you lost because thats how the odds were weighed up against you in the first place.

Any of these so called theories etc do not work and are a load of sh!t. With roulette, the wheel is spinning, and so is the ball. Big deal if you can get it within 3 numbers either side of what you were aiming for. The way the numbers are arranged on the roulette wheel counteracts this. If your so good at it and you can win so much; why dont you go into the casino every day and clean them out??? I doubt you would get bored of making money.

Generally if you walk in with a lot of money and you dont even need to win, thats the times you win. When i walk in with little money trying to double/triple it, i end up losing out.

Your better off not getting involved with it unless you have plenty of money and you are the type like that can go in and lose a certain set amount, and walk away, and thats pretty hard for 99% of people!

I can :(

leave the boys to thier gambl0r talking

actually, i've heard it is possible to play roulette and never lose out.

you bet on a 50/50 (ie black/red, odd/even, 1-18/19-36) which will double your money if you win, say for example i bet $5 on black.

if i don't win then i double my original bet on the next spin ($10), which will take into account the loss i had on the last spin. then if this doesn't win again, i put down $20 and so on.

as long as you continue to double your previous bet, and continue to play a 50/50, you will always make your money back. problem with this is that if you have a bad run then you will need to have a substantial amount of money to play, as the money needed to get back your loss will grow exponentially. not much fun though.

there definately are ways around some games, card counting in black jack increases chances of winning dramatically, it's just that security will definately not be too keen on keeping you around...

the double up theroy is all good, but the winnings vs potental losses aren't very good

if you bet $5 initially then you keep doubling up till you win, you'll only ever win $5 a time... if you have to double up say 8 times thats:

5 10 20 40 80 160 320 = $635 to win $5, big risk.

JAPCAB: not all gambling is pure luck - hence why some people get banned from casinos because they can beat the system (by card counting usually). But your right (and as leewah has said) you need to be willing to loose what you walk in there with.

Well.....in an effort to prove all the 'anit-pokie' people wrong, I went to a local pokie playing place last night with a handfull of dosh and left an UNhappy camper!!!

I say bring on the poker lessons and I'll try my luck at that.

toally not true, alot of games are pure luck but you can increase your luck by increasing the chances that you could win, ie the odds. Then its not totally all chance. i love texas holdem but i woudlnt' be good enough to go into the cas and buy in, i just know how to play a little like what are good starting hands but not good enough to calculate pot odds :) i always download and watch world poker tour, some seriously good viewing entertainment :)

A lot of luck is required when gambling as the odds always start against you. No doubt about it, but if you are going to generalise everything the way you have, you obviously haven't taken gambling seriously before.

As you have stated, you lose when you go to the casino. That's coz yr trying to double or triple your capital. It's not going to happen all the time.

When I did it for 9 months full time (5 days a week, up to 10 hours a day), I only tried to make 20% each time I went in. On a capital layout of $2k, that's $400 a day tax free. Sure, you don't win everyday but most days you come out on top as you have enough capital to ride out the bad hands.

Blackjack is only good if you're there for a short period of time. The shoes in general are too unpredictable to make big bets and expect to come out on top. Even counters have trouble with 8 decks especially when they cut the deck at least 1.5 in meaning that at least 76 cards won't be played.

Baccarat is defiantely where the money is IMHO.

This is known as the Martingale system and works fine in theory. The casino knows this however and hence the reason for table limits. This is why this particular system will never work.

Your missing the $2.50 chips leewang, i'm just nitpicking..they look like good chips. I was playing black jack, well dealing actually yesterday with friends and showing them how to play, we also dabled in poker, i practiced my card toss. i got a long way to go before i get any good at that. So when are we going to put these to use?

Don't need chips representing a PRETEND $2.50 when we play.

I'll decided denominations on the day but the standard will prob apply. Might use the white as monkeys (as we don't need PRETEND $1 chips either) and then use the blue for gorillas.

We'll do this when I get back from my holiday as I've run out of time to organise it all.

eBay baby!!! Found a few sites where 500 chips was gonna set me back bout $350 but eBay has heaps.

Just took a punt with these ones and I'm pretty happy. Comes in an aluminium case with 2 decks of cards, a dealer button and 5 dice.

All in all, it was $114 delivered to my office  This is the 5th set I bid on. All the others went over my budget.

Nice where did you get that from? how much? I want to get a set as well.

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
