Difference between 4WD system in R32 GTS4 v R32 GTR?

Hi guys.

Looking at buying an R32 GTS-T for dropping an RB30DET into, that was going to go into my R31. Have been looking at the GTS4's that are available.

How does the GTS4 differ from the GTR other than RB20 vs RB26? In terms of the 4WD system, how does it differ?

I'm not aware of any differences between the two. We have used GTS4 front diff/sump in a gtr, and also the atessa controllers work fine in both

GTR is also 4 wheel steer, not sure if the GTS4 is or not

Isn't that HICAS and don't people lock that even on GTRs?

Yes, Yes, and Yes the gts4 has HICAS as well.

So other than RB26DETT vs RB20DET are there any significant differences between the GTS4 and GTR?

driveline wise they are very similar, in fact we used most of a gts4 front cut repairing some major damage to the race car. Obviously the gtr has wider guards, different brakes, engine, intercooler but they are pretty similar

And apparently the 33 can't be too different either, becuase there is a 4 door 33 gts4 in NSW with an RB26

you will want to replace the tranny though.. it won't handle the RB30DET.. you need the GTR 5 speed or the R34 Getrag mission..

gts4 has vicous lsd, gtr has mechanical

Here is one other difference, in the R33 anyway:

Rear Axels are different thickness through the hubs.
