Not sure if this has been posted, i havent seen a thread on this yet. basically, the RTA site now has a list of cars that cannot be driven whilst on P1-P2. plus in addition to turbo and SC cars, HIGH PERFORMANCE NA vehicle such as 350Z, BMW Z3 etc cannot be driven whilst on P1-P2. also to note, the list will be updated regularly.

anywayz, go check it out. very interesting.

ohh, theres also exemptions for "low" performance "family" turbo cars. what da hell is a low performance family turbo car ? dont tell me its that boxy 0.8L turbo car ? :whatsthat

hahaha they have some really slow stock cars on there i dont know what these ppl are thinking when they made up that list, 800cc charde Turbo, I know that when worked they go hard but not stock, that jsut one example

dont worry found it

these are the rules

(note..these are for NEW P1 and P2 drivers not existing)

few.. thank christ there was no way i was selling my car for nobody

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/gettin...ons.html?lfid=1

and the list

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downlo...itions_dl1.html

basically all imports!!!

You'll notice that they want to add to the list later, etc. So what happens if you buy a car that wasn't banned until after the purchase date?

I notice that the brand new 500hp BMW M5 is not on the list. Its not a V8, and its not a turbo. Same with the Dodge Viper. The S2000 is also not banned. An old Charger is still perfectly legal, and that used to be the quickest car in Australia (and will still give quite a few modern sports cars a run for their money in a straight line, while probably ending up as an oversized tree decoration should you hit a bend at speed).

Go figure.

Guess what skyline isnt on the list........................... R33 GTR 4Door

Ahhh yes it is.....

right under the 2 doors it has 4 doors.

Jesus bloody christ!

That list is huge..... but some insane things that are on the list are Landcruisers...... simply because they're V8's.

My god! I'd like to see any kid try and kill him/herself in a ****ing cruiser!!

It's a boat dammit!

No mention of sprinters or MR2's with a supercharged engine though. So this means all you good little P platers can now buy big on hachis and do engine conversions. Hell, it's not that hard, I've done it

lol I'm so pissed at the RTa right now Owning a car doesn't get u outa the law they say Nah it just gets me owing a lotta money and not being able to use the ****en Thing Dam Goverment so lost my vote when i can

I wanta sue them can they really do that to me i have car b4 law now i have to follow Law due to it saying a lot of shit

If i don't get my P's how much in a NA r34 will i be able to swap my Gts-t R33 for one or r they heaps more

    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
