Finally after many years of driving I was booked speeding... Yes, thats right, I had a moment of weakness and didnt have my fox like eyes watching everything... I didnt see them parked at all, only time I got suss was when a car was tearing up behind me and then it was the blue and red disco...

89 in a 70 zone...

I find it very ironic that after owning the skyline for years and flogging the balls off it, I never get done, but 6 weeks into owning a luxury car, I get done... hahaha

Police were excellent, very respectfull and very nice about it all...

ive done the opposite to you never been booked ever then lost 10 points in the past year since ive owned my skyline. woo hoo! 1 was from speeding 32km/h over ( i though it was 100km/h zone goin south bound after paying the toll on the gateway it was an 80km/h zone) and the other were just defects in a mates car i was driving. they were all un deliberate offences aswell. meaning i wasnt trying to be stupid or anything just wrong place at the wrong time.

Going by that, and the other guy that got done for the first time in 5 years that he had his skyline. Im really failing to see how some people say import drivers are targeted hey.

Bad luck tho, but you know you were in the wrong, so its all good. I mean, they are right, if you speed one day you will be caught.

You failed to mention that it’s only the 17 – 20yr old group that complain about being targeted. :)

I thought it was up to 25? Dont want to start an argument, but yeah. I think whoever is getting done is asking to be done in that age group. Some is BS, but they are in the position to get dilled.

I got my skyline when I was 19, and never felt targeting, saying the younger import drivers are targeted is an excuse for stupidity...

Yeap, I was in the wrong, cop it on the chin...

Gordo - I bet when I give the thing more power I will never get a fine (touch wood) but in the meantime I will loose points driving it in stock form... (slow)

James - cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the comfort... hahaha

Jason - You're probably dead right, because it doesnt accel very hard I generally just leave my foot in one position and accelerate... lol

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
