It looks like a rb25 compressor and cover with a VG20 exhaust wheel and exhaust housing.

it is BB. you have an unusual turbo there:)

If its a RB25/VG20 combo it will put out about 215rwkw on an rb20. its exactly what i had on my rb20.

hope that helps.

Thanks Cef11e .. thanks heaps

Matt

Bass, which one is which in the pic ?? I just bought a turbo that looks like the right side turbo.... but i suddenly got a feeling that is wrong, and the VG30 is the left in the pic ???

Safest method I think is to measure the width of the snail.

I will take a few more pics with measurements tomorrow and post them up.

Thanks Cubes, that would be really helpful. Looking at the pics the left one has the flange tucked under the housing more.... and looks to stay thicker as it curves around.

This is the turbo i have paid money for, but have asked the guy to hold sending until i verify more.... i inatially though it was the right hand turbo, and this looks similar with the flange further out...... bit hard with the pic angles to see....

Anyway, help appreciated, look forward to pics tomorrow, thanks again.

Get pics of the snails, like the ones that I've posted.

The difference is really easy to see.

On the VG30, the gap between the snail and the flange is smaller than the width of the flange, on the RB25 or RB20, the gap is bigger.

Cheers

Pete

guys, i've just finished my hybrid gcg highflow turbo and poncam in the weekend. i will get it tune in a fornight. the car feel stronger than the stage 1 gcg highflow but laggy. it hit 1 bar at about 3800rpm. will post my result as soon as i get it done! ;)

A 'Good' tune will bring it on a little better and fill the hole.

A crap tune will leave it feeling the same. :)

There's a few little tricks one can do to help the turbo spool up quicker.

Bring the exhaust gas temp up.

Retarded ignition timing and or lean out.

Ever noticed on R32's when stone cold how she wants to spool so damn quickly, it feels like a slight flat spot and on cruise it almost makes boost.

I've taken a few quick snaps of the Ball Bearing Ceramic Turbine Wheeled VG30DET turbo from a Cima/Leopard.

Sorry to those dialup users..

First up the comp covers outlet - ~43mm ID

The turbine housing just after the first bolt that bolts the turbine housing to the chra - ~50mm

The RB20DET's here is ~45mm. A Definite difference in thickness.

Furthur down the snail after the second bolt. - ~45mm.

Furthur again down the snail displaying the gap between the bottom of the flange and the snail. ~15mm.
