hey guys i really need to know how to wire inline resitors in my rb20 for gtr injectors to work with my power fc, i need to know exactly what resistors i need to put in and also what resistance the circuit has to be to make them run, i dont want to blow up my precious power fc,

thanx for al you help

regards luke

There was a guide on how to make them.. was very easy and would cost you about $5 in parts.. I believe it had to do with wiring a resistor on the "active" line of each injector. It was in a stupid place on here (wanted section??) and can't find it for the life of me anymore.

so if i just get a gtr ballast resistor i just plug that into the loom do i and it will work perfect?

Its not plug in, it requires soldering whether you use the Nissan ballast resistor or make your own usign resistors from Jaycar.

If you look in the tutorial section i did a thread to help ppl get started. Outside of that it is easy to cut into theloom and solder it all up, just take it slow and triple check everything. If you were in Melb id be happy to do it, including installing injetors its about a 6hr job from start to finish, including removing coil pack covers, inlet piping, taping up the loom etc etc

Mine was 13 ohms with the GTR resistor pack in and 3.5 ohns with resistor pack out.;)

Thanks SK, In the workshop manual it states 5k for the resistor pack

even so 13k seems a little high if the ecu has the same mosfet transistors as the rb20 ecu

Cant remember, i did measure it to check that i had it all wired up correctly. Easisest thing to do is when you are removing the injectors just check the resistance of the GTR injector with the RB20 injector.

I seem to remember the ballast resistor was about 5-6ohms

well that confirms what the workshop manual states...

so if i simply get a gtr ballast box, i just have to cut and solder each injector positive feed into each of the wires coming out of the ballast box?, if i do it the other way as in wireing resitors inline, do i just cut the main feed to the injector and wire an inline resitor into it, if so what size resitor is needed to do this.

  • 2 weeks later...

you are best off getting the heavy duty ceramic ones - I think they are the 1watt.. they are big and square. I'd say if you wrapped that in plenty of electrical tape, and soldered properly you shouldn't have a problem I wouldn't think.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
