Going from an exa to a 250+rwkw and only been driving for 2 years, look out people who live near the poo farm :Pimp2:

I would keep some $$ in reserve as its already had an engine sway so you cant say how many km's its done or what condition the engine is in as for 11k its very check with all that gear.

I would imagine it would have some sort of management assistance, obviously all the mods aren't listed and I wont know until it lands.

Wont ship out for a few weeks so will be here in around 2 months.

i am going to get everything looked over again and again, the beauty of doing business with work shops is that when you need a favor back its there :) Compliance and RWC etc. are all being taken care of.

I am going to be doing a few of those defensive driving courses, I honestly believe I am a good driver but i am not ****y and with the power this thing has I am going to make sure I know how to handle it.

As for the Km's no one will really ever know the true km's on the motor. The car has 134,xxx kms but the motor could have only 50,000 who knows..... A compression test and a general checkup will determine the kms i suppose.

A timing belt replacement sticker (or lack thereof) is often a good indication.

Yeh good point...

Just out of curiosity what is a RB25 conversion usually worth on an R32? 4-5k?

Greg

only thing i would be concerned about is what u have to do to get it roadworthy and registered?

damn good price all the same.

Doesnt say anything about suspension mods.... coz the arse end looks VL sled styles....

and HEY easy on the poo farm gags... it only smells like shit on friday afternoon in the summer.....:chairshot:

Alot of things they dont mention so we'll see how that goes when it comes.

RWC should be fine, being taken care of ;)

With the cam covers (or timing belt cover, what ever you call it) can it be swapped from the RB25 to the RB20? (so instead of having RB25 on my motor it will have RB20?)

Cheers,

Greg

Even with all the RB20 rocker covers. timing belt covers, the plenum will still be a dead giveaway that its an RB25:(

i just want it to say RB20 on the timing belt cover instead of the RB25, just so it looks like its semi the original motor.. if that makes sense.

I know the turbo is going to be a slight giveaway to the car being modded but i figure its 1 step closer to being stock.

LOL... I dont think it smells at all.. ohwell..

Got a question though..

What sort of 1/4 mile times are realistic with est 250rwkw?

Greg

Is it just me or do I have a GTR front bar minus the front lip?

My%20R32.JPG

In one of the photos there is something long and thin in the back seat, im hoping it is the lower lip, i think it is :P

Greg

OR am i wrong altogether and seeing things?

you'd think it would have an aftermarket ECU or soemthing running a much biger turb :P

Nice car Greg, i was looking at that for a mate. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

The car is the same as mine, stock ECU (alhtough mine is chipped with data logger) and was running other gear.

If you give Gary a call he'll give you all the info.

My DD is still running the Rb20 with that turbo set up and im pushing for 260rkw's and the turbo is rated at 435bhp.

im running low 11's with a very tired locker and has potential to run better so with the Rb25 your hsould post some good figures and get the desired power your looking for.

Good luck with the car

Cheers B

heheh congrats on the car, when I saw it come up it reminded me of my import . Prestige were tops regarding my car, and you can all but expect a whole lot of surprises. Certainly I found a lot of interesting goodies that weren't listed :). I imported an RB26 powered gts-t 4 door, and it turned out to be a gts-4 ;).

ps. love to have a look see once it's imported :).

What I wanted to hear...

I will be sure to take it out to some meets up once it lands. Will be taking it down the strip to get some time slips too ;)

Wouldn't mind having a look at your 4 door GTR ;) lol

    • Food for thought, the stock oil filter thread is a 3/4-16 UNF, which has an ID of about 10 to 12mm (according to ChatGPT lol). Now compare than to an 10AN, which has an ID of about 14mm (Raceworks is 14.2mm, Speed flow is 14.27mm).
    • Yep, totally get that. However hooking in for Generator back up is only a few hundred bucks for the wiring. You could put a couple of those in (for different circuits explicitly) and run a couple of baby generators. Bonus, you can balance them across different circuits, and now have backups in your backup. I'm looking at buying places that won't even have water etc, and I don't mind the idea of getting off the electric grid either, even with everything you've said. This country already has enough power outages that even the mains grid isn't that reliable anymore. I do agree though on spending a bit more to get better gear, and to add some extra redundancy in to the system too.
    • You can set hard reserves on your battery system, and it can't be discharged past that.
    • That sounds like an excellent idea. But total self-sufficiency means exactly that. You have no-one else to blame when your system faults out and you have no power for a week or two while it gets fixed. You'd have to go the whole hog and get a diesel genny and all the switchover gear, to get you through such times. And, despite the fact that over 20 years, my system has been pretty reliable**, I have seen so many inverter explosions (or less dramatic deaths), panel and roof JB fires, and so on, over that time, to know that the stuff is the same as any other bulk Chinese manufactured stuff. The failure rate is well above zero - both on the equipment and on behalf of the meth addled installation labour force. And then..... warranty and means of redress against the supplier you bought the gear from. Best I can tell is that only a handful of solar companies are still around within 5 years of starting their advertising pitch. They disappear and phoenix like crazy. So, as per 1st paragraph, I suspect the only way to is go balls deep and spend maybe 2-3 times as much as you might think, so that you have every base covered. Plus, know and understand your gear intimately, so you can diagnose problems, sort them out yourself, etc, etc. Plus, probably have to consider upgrading various parts as the years pass, to maintain compatibility with newer stuff, performance and reliability, etc, etc. Whereas, remaining attached to the grid has an ongoing cost that keeps going up even if you use bugger all power from it. But it does provide the fallback in case of the worst case with your own gear. You either pay up front or as you go, I suspect.
    • Add more solar panels to the array. Call the electricity company and tell them you're moving out... Live off grid electric wise
