The SAU Putty Road cruise is on the 17th September (Saturday) this year, and I hope some of you slackers will come along this time :( Me, Ewen and Shell went up last year and it was awesome.

Basically the plan is, cruise up to Sydney (Windsor) Friday afternoon and stay at Windsor Friday night. Go on the cruise Saturday (the meeting point is about 5 minutes away from where we stay) and stay up in the wine region Saturday night with some of the SAU guys, and then head home Sunday.

For those that dont know Putty Road, it runs from Sydney to Singleton and is masses upon masses of winding roads through the middle of a rain forest... very fun :)

Staying in Windsor Friday night, there are lots of restaurants, cafes, bars etc only 2 minutes walk away, maccas just down the road etc.

Its an awesome weekend, and hopefully some of you can make it up. More details will be posted in the general events section soon, so this is just to gauge interest so far.

As stated earlier,I'm keen! Before I definately commit,'ll check the planner, and make sure my car wont be in a million pieces at that stage...

  • 1 month later...

This is in less than a month, any more ideas on who is going? Myself, cassi, ewen, mark and shell are all definately going up. I provided the link for a hotel in this thread in Windsor, and the meeting point for the cruise is only 5 mins away in the morning.

At this stage we will probably leave around 3 - 4PM, and arrive by 7:30PM at the latest. Check into the hotel, then go and wine and dine at one of the many restaurants/cafes 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

It will be an awesome weekend, hopefully see some more of you up there :D

what will be sleeping arrangements for saturday night? staying in another hotel or at other SAU members homes? (i just have bad habbits!!!)

what kind of arcade machine? Initial D? DDR?

It's a game(Super Real Darwin - Vertical shooter) that I spent way too much money on in my youthful days, and am also finishing off my MAME project.... I'd love to get a Initial D though

Sleeping arrangements for saturday night are whatever you make them as.

Me, mark, cassi and ewen are staying in Sydney city on saturday night. Our plan is head to Windsor on friday afternoon, cruise saturday and head back to Sydney saturday afternoon, party saturday night, head home sunday.

You can head straight home saturday if you want, can stay in hunter valley if you want, can stay in sydney if you want :D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
