Nah, just remove the restrictor and all will be good.

have a look down the hole, and you'll see a little piece of metal with a hole in it. Find a screw that'll thread down the hole, just like a wood screw or something, and then lever out with some pliers. Thats the way I did mine.

Have finished the brake upgrades. The RS4 now has the GTST 4 pot with std discs. The 2 pot off the RS4 are now on the 25G after a bit of juggling.

The RS4 and GTST pistons are both about 42 dia. Was surprised to see the 25G singles are 56 dia. Put an BM50 master cyl on the 25G to handle the bigger brake pads.

what diameter are the 25g rotors Hugh?

Might be a bit of an upgrade for my 31 :)

280dia, same as S1 and the GTST rotors now on the RS4.

I am interested in the dogbones to run bigger rotors for when the rwd 25G is turboed.

Well good news for me, a friend of mine is sourcing a set of R34 GT-T front and rear calipers (and short lines from what he told me) in the next couple of weeks. What is the good set of rotors to get? and what do I need to do in order to change my calipers. Are the lines the same? (I have S2 Stagea), Can I still run the Stagea Brake Master Cylinder or should I change that to the R34 one as well.

Will the 310mm front rotors fit straight on Wolverine or will I have to do some slight modifications??

I'm just waiting for funds to clear up so I can buy the R34 brakes and rotors from the link you put up (can't came fast enough...brakes are starting to squeal)

Sorry Jase, just saw the post. The rotors fit in fine. I bought calipers and RDA rotors but the brake lines didn't come in the box despite being included :rant:

Everything fitted fine including the rotors but the rear brake lines required braided lines to fit. Maybe be with R34 brake lines it can be made to work??

I should clarify, the BMC is the same size as the R34. The inlet and outlets on Nissan BMC's can be slightly different which may get them different part numbers.

A little over 1200 including freight via DHL. The freight was the killer.

I had no luck looking on Australian brake rotors, at least these fit my car without having to stuff around re-sizing and I don't want to convert my brakes as I mainly use it as a daily. Brembos are awesome, but not something I need as I rarely visit a track.

You shouldn't need to if the rotors are well made.

Best just to measure run out and check. If run out is excessive you'll have to send them back (which is difficult when you bought them from overseas I know).

This is what stopped me from getting the rotors from RHDJapan (BTW I was the one who got them to add them in) it's the weight of the rotors that makes shipping expensive...didn't matter where I was trying to get them from (RHDJapan, Greenline or Nengun) it was just killing for shipping. Before I found a R34 GT-T set on here I was going to get them from Import Monster.

On the subject of those R34 Brakes, I got them yesterday (Thanks to Wolverine for putting the link on here and tir31 for selling them)...now I know the fronts should be a direct fit but what do I have to do again to get the rears to fit (I remember that you have to trim the dust cover...am I right?? and if I am right by how much and where to trim)

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive 
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
