This evening my C210 stalled (auto), i think the carbi is cactus, and my alternator died last night and it took me 2 hours to get from woodridge (where i work) to Sunnybank (where i live), so today i decides to buy an alternator, spent 2 hrs searchin wreckers, sum northside wrecker wanted $99 for one, i couldnt afford that, so i tried abc wreckers, oxley and they had one off an L28 motor, so i installed it today m stupid me forgot to charge my battery last night so there was stuff all charge in it, i got a jumpstart before i left home and got to work with it stalling at all.

But on the way home it stalled and wouldnt start due to flat battery 3 or 4 times before i even left work, then i made from kingston road, woodrigde to corner of loganlea and queens roads.

i had a mate helping me jumpstart when this guy pulls up behind me and says everything ok, i saw the skyline n had to stop, he introduced himself as jason, turns out he is V8SkylineMan. we spoke for abit checkn each others beasts out then he had to leave.

after i got the skyline goin again i got on the freeway and the thing just lost all charge and dies near the logan road exit was sitting there for bout 10-15 minutes, when i get this phone call, it was from Jason and his best mate Karl, they drove past me in Karls fourby, asked if everything was ok n i said no i need another jump start, so he said they would turn around and bout 5-10 minutes there they were...it was like a white miracle on wheels lol.

they got me jump started n Jason tried to find any cause for the problems i had i got bout 20 metres down the road when it stalled again, they helped me out again, but i only made it bout 40 metres this time.

just when my night couldnt get any worse, i jumped out again and lifted the bonnect and hooked up the jumper leads and tried to flag down a car to help me, all i got in return was abuse and honking horns.

then a silver lancer pulls up behind me and this guy gets out n says everything ok n i said i need a jump start and he said is that all, and no 1 else would stop for u, his girlfriend, who was driving drove up to my car n almost ran her boyfriend over lol and btw she was bout 5 ft blonde and really hot lol, she decided they would follow me home and i didnt stall it until i got to the final turn which was a U-turn and then the dude got out n pushed me into the drive way...it took me bout 3 n half hours to home tonite.

saturday i will spend my time fixing the over heating problem and im charging the battery tonite lol and check all my wiring lol, if any1 is not doing anything tomorrow and knows the C210 series skylines, ur expert advice would be handy, email me @ [email protected]

just want to say again a huge thank you to jason and karl you guys r legends in a white miracle lol

peace out (*think ive bored you all enough*)

oh btw im new here so if my post was too long winded im sorry, i wont write so much next time lol

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
