before everyone asks me to do a search could they please read my post below because i need help with my decision

i currently have a r32 gtst with full exhaust, filter, fuel ump and have a hks gt2530 and FMIC on the way. after that ill get a chip

here are the options i have

1) get a nimso fuel pressure regulator for $200 and be happy with say around 210rwkw

2) get GTR injector $250, get them cleaned $150, then get a resister pack $100. all up thats around $500

3) if im going to spend $500 on GTR injectors i may as well get nismo 720cc injectos for $600 off a friiend

the questions is this. do u people think i should just get the nismo regulator and see if that will push up to 220rwkw? because if i decide to get the injectors for a few more KW its going to cost that extra $500 and im a cheap arse

Just check the impedance of those 720cc nismo's...you may find you need a resistor pack for them too.

p.s. lack of fuel is the main cause of engine damage/failure.....that is after lack of oil

the iibjectors may be 600cc or 720 but are the same impediance and are a direct bolt in ive been told. thats why i thinking about getting them over the GTR ones

and yes that is my main concern. i dont want to engine to be starved of fuel

I'd say go for injectors for sure

I had stock injectors making 200rwkw and it was dodgy at best

I have GTR injectors now, and at 205rwkw they are running at 70% duty, so the stockies where well past it

Some people reckon 220rwkw is possible out of stock injectors, but all dynos read differant

my 200rwkw stockin/inj was on a differant dyno to its current read out, so on the same dyno I reckon it would be 215+

It makes a extra 45rwkw midrange, as we could screw in heaps more timing and fuel with the safety of the bigger injectors

I'd go injectors for sure

am i missing something? (highly possible) you mentioned a chip but if you opt for bigger injectors you'll need a prog ecu or remapped stocker.

as you know that alone will give you a power increase. if you get a used pfc for $800 that's not much more than the cost of injectors and gives you much more flex. some people have had good results with increasing pressure - within reasonable LIMITS - as a 10% increase or thereabouts puts the pressure below the upper threshold stipulated by the manufacturer in most cases.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
