Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone or company sell's CAI box's for the twin pod setup on a gtr?

Im looking to buy one but i can only find ones to suit gtst's.

Any info is appreciated.

Cheers

Brendan

i would be very interested in this as well, because i can't be bothered to make one myself and won't get pods till i get a CAI box

Unique autosports make them. speak to John and tell him ze baron sent you!

if you don't like his try Advan. they don't have them on the shelf but will custom make to suit each application.

other than that the only viable option is to either make one yourself or go for an ARC airbox.

Or use the OEM airbox!!

Or use the OEM airbox!!

yeah for sure. i just haven't seen too many 32 GTRs that still have them ;)

since I've had my car it's had:

old hks pods

new hks pods

new apexi power intake pods

arc airbox

back to apexi pods

i would like to try a stock box if someone is going to pods. i reckon it would be ok with a decent filter in it and maybe open up the intake a bit.

advan have cai boxes in their showroom, not sure if they have them ready to go for sale though. can't imagine it would be a problem for them to make the thing up if you told them what filters you have.

where can i see these advan ones?

do they have a website or something?

I'm designing a box right now!

I've got an R32 GTR with HKS pods on it now, but I also have an ARC airbox, and I am in the process of making a custom box. I'm not totally happy with the ARC box, so I'm making something better!

I have an excellent welder (aircraft engineer) who is happy to make one for me, and I may be able to get him to make a few more if interest is high enough. Also, my cousin owns a metal fabrication business so....

It will be made from aluminium sheet/plate, maybe each side welded together, or maybe some bends(professional/industrial press) and some welds; I'm thinking all welds though, as al doesnt bend too well. I may also look at getting it powdercoated/anodised? black for stealth look, or color maybe.

I'm doing it for R32 GTR at the moment, but I would also look at doing them for other models if interest is good..

If anyone is interested, give me a PM, and I'll keep you posted on whats happening.

i currently making one for my 32 gtr for apexi filters if anyone is intrested in one i might make up a couple. im also going to try and make one for a 32 gtst, if anyone has a gtst and they want one made i need a test/trial car. im making the gtr one out of stainless steel but i have made one for a xr8 out of stainless angle and perspex with a neon in it and the tickford logo engraved on the perspex so i might be able to do something like that for the skylines.

    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items

    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile

    • Ok so i will NEED to have this sensor anyway even with Nistune (or standalone ECU) https://justjap.com/products/genuine-nissan-boost-pressure-sensor-evap-control-system-fits-nissan-r34-skyline-c34-nm35-stagea-pnt30-x-trail-rb25det-vq25det-sr20vet?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOoqfxX48bW9bEwH62orcNhtBfp7ekAL0C9Ca89ySFGUiBzXfXeze Is this the correct one? And this is only thing i need? No other "things" connected to the sensor or something? I do have the wiring.
